We buried Bears mother
\nLily today
\nWith a basket of her goodies
\nHeld sway
\nHer owl cushion, food
\nThings she liked and did share
\nWe dug into the sod
\nAnd just laid her there<\/p>\n
An Apple Tree guards her
\nIn her minty space
\nHopefully warms her
\nWith Jack Frosts cool grace
\nTo the Summerlands
\nShe will move slowly tonight
\nIn her idyll of love
\nThrough a trail of moon light<\/p>\n
With the incense and rosemary
\nProtecting her she
\nwill leave this her realm
\nAnd be gone and be free
\nTo walk with the angels
\nTo breathe the sweet air
\nTo just hear the silence
\nNow everywhere<\/p>\n
Her Earth Mother grieves
\nAnd her son’s eyes are wet
\nThe sadness is evident
\nThe elegy let
\nThose of us missing Dear Lily
\naware
\nOf her joyful encounters
\nAnd really how rare<\/p>\n
She was a spirit she is
\nFor we knew
\nHer time had arrived
\nHer charm was all through
\nSo much affection
\nAnd so much grace
\nIn death once more
\nDarling we peered at your face<\/p>\n
Your calming repose
\nYour prism of peace
\nWe hope and we know
\nYou have found some release
\nWith your courage undaunted
\nYou doggedly ran
\nUnflinching and determined
\nTo follow the plan<\/p>\n
Your desire to go forward
\nTo the great fields of green
\nWhere the sun shines forever
\nAnd the leaves take a sheen
\nAnd everywhere really
\nSparkles and shows
\nThe light and the gracefulness
\nUnder our nose<\/p>\n
Your body will lie
\nWhere you found your place
\nWhere you sat where the mints
\nThrew their scent in our face
\nShaded yet sunny and there you will be
\nWatching us still
