Yes I feel emotional
\nI enjoy working well
\nIn the garden sawing logs
\nAnd To myself I tell
\nLittle made up ditties
\nThat one day I may know
\nThat all I ever wanted
\nOut of life was to love her so<\/p>\n
My hands are very painful
\nBut Still I want to saw
\nI can do it sitting down
\nIts what the chair is for
\nMy aching shins and aching thighs
\nPreclude standing too long
\nToday I filled two buckets
\nAnd it makes me strong<\/p>\n
In the Spring Time sunshine
\nNoticing the sights
\nHearing bird song
\nSeeing colours
\nAll those special lights<\/p>\n
Being on my ownsome
\nAnd Nature on my side
\nShe never has a go at me
\nShe never says I have lied<\/p>\n
She just lets me do my thing
\nI saw the logs and I
\nAm proud to help
\nAnd hope one day when I die
\nSomeone may just think of me
\nKindly that is all
\nI ever want out of this
\nNot to be seen as a fool<\/p>\n
I do enjoy her garden
\nHer totem and her tree
\nThe apples on it crisp and sweet
\nAnd low enough to be
\nA prize for me at autumn time
\nAll that golden charm
\nToday I did some sawing
\nAnd whilst doing it felt calm<\/p>\n
Sadly I am happier now
\nTo just be on my own
\nWriting talking to my self
\nFor I do feel so alone
\nPeople think I am useless
\nThey have little time for me
\nBut I believe it matters not
\nWhen sawing I am free<\/p>\n
To believe I make a difference
\nTo help warm others who
\nMight not think that much of me
\nBut its so lovely to do
\nTo get the sawdust on my arms
\nThe rich smell of the wood
\nAnd carry them into the store
\nFor those cold nights will be good<\/p>\n
And that she may remember
\nIt was me that loved to saw
\nBut only for her just for her
\nAll others I ignore
\nIts my puny show of love
\nTo make her winters bright
\nBurning wood that I have sawn
\nAnd All done in plain sight<\/p>\n
For I know that I frustrate her
\nAnd so my gift is one
\nOf logs and wood and little things
\nOf sitting in the sun
\nPerhaps when I pass on
\nI can come back and sit a while
\nNear the totem I
\nCan Saw some wood for winter
