Its a balancing act
\nThat is clearly causing conflict
\nThe coal fire plants
\nAround the Sunderbans
\nThe largest mangrove forest
\nIn the world today
\nAnd the seriousness of moving it
\nIsn’t fun<\/p>\n
Along the Shela River
\nSo much wild life
\nAnd area of outstanding beauty where
\nshipments of coal and coal ash
\nAnd some fuel oil
\nHave begun to cause great moments
\nOf despair<\/p>\n
Two years ago a tanker partially sank
\nThere
\nThis month a coal boat sank
\nAnd thus it threw
\nReally dirty cargo into what is
\nA dolphin sanctuary
\nWith Bengal Tigers really
\nAt risk too<\/p>\n
Bangladesh is fuming at the prospect
\nOf damaging endangered species, they
\nHave accepted the need to ship the dirty cargo
\nBut the environment is important
\nToo they say<\/p>\n
Some 6000 wild animals now live around
\nThe Irrawaddy and the Ganges Dolphins they
\nAnd of course the Bengal Tigers in the Sunderbans
\nAnother sinking clearly could put pay
\nHabitat loss is happening all over
\nWild species versus human beings who
\nTerribly pollute they savage and they loot
\nAnd so many species die out everyday<\/p>\n
The iconic nature of these river dolphins
\nAnd of course the bengal Tigers and the rest
\nMangrove forests harbour many species
\nAnd Bangladesh believes it knows whats best
\nTo save the Sunderbans against all comers
\nFishing is banned and tankers are banned too
\nNow all Naval movements and cargo ships as well
\nThis has really been thought out
\nand is a prudent thing to do<\/p>\n
It took a lot of foresight and some courage
\nCommitting faith and effort and they appear
\nTo not follow everybody else’s paradigms
\nMuch of it related more to fear
\nOf corporate pressure clearly thats a good thing
\nIts powerful and its forward thinking too
\nThe environment and the species living wild
\nWithin the space
\nshould remain pristine
\nIts the only thing to do<\/p>\n
