\nWhat Sea World really is about
\nOrca Nirvana was always there
\nThen came the Oceans of despair
\nCaptivity was always wrong
\nThere were no positives all along
\nJust the pathological pursuit of power
\nAnd profit building on the hour<\/p>\n
Rubbing shoulders with those that are seen
\nTo be against cruelty that machine
\nSet up in 1954
\nRescue and reform unseen before
\nBusiness as usual wait and see
\nThe edicts from one Joel Manby
\nAre a coat of lacquer on a base
\nTo try somehow to improve their place<\/p>\n
An amnesty of sorts rolled out
\nIts the killer whales that its about
\nAnd Tilikum more especially who killed
\n3 souls so tragically
\nIts clear to all that captivity
\nWas wholly wrong and cannot be
\nAllowed to happen ever again
\nIn reality it was insane<\/p>\n
But it will not change
\nThey will stay
\nIn their measly ponds
\nTill their judgement day
\nHowever long that is ahead
\nTill every one of them drops dead<\/p>\n
And meanwhile the tug of war begins
\nThe human society somehow wins
\nA reason really to more closely be
\nShoulder to shoulder it seems to me
\nThe apparent liaison gives both some face
\nAn identity a place in space
\nA mutual path to kingdom come
\nBoth beating on the cruelty drum<\/p>\n
For Seaworld its their arrogance
\nin some ways its a new romance
\nBetween the Orca and their perception
\nReally what has been the reception
\nThey were formerly thought of as killer whales
\nBut Sea World changed all that
\nIts trails
\nTook the Orca to dizzy heights
\nOf acceptance really and hard won rights<\/p>\n
Thats not true no not at all
\nWild animals can be seen, the rule
\nOf thumb is watching them in the wild
\nNot in small tanks being defiled
\nWhale watching is the thing to do
\nFrom a boat from the shore to enjoy that view
\nNot in captivity all that has done
\nIs perturbed the protestors
\nIts has come undone<\/p>\n
Massive numbers have risen to say
\nCaptivity is not the way
\nThe oceans are the place to be
\nNot sea worlds tanks of infamy
\nCorporate shadows to me are wrong
\nBesides they don’t sing from the same song
\nBook
\nThus morphing into where
\nPreviously we saw despair<\/p>\n
For me theres a wrangle on the street
\nA collision course as both compete
\nFor different themes for certain ways
\nAnd at the end somebody pays
\nThe untimeliness and disparity
\nAnd what is the ambiguity<\/p>\n
Sea World remains and is going to be
\nGrateful for rescues on Land and sea
\nAnd it will look after similarly
\nRescued earthlings of the sea
\nWhat have they to feel proud about
\nEvolving understanding despite the nations doubt
\nIt had nothing to do with you
\nIt was watching and learning
\nWhich brought it into<\/p>\n
The perception of man
\nFor the wild places where
\nThey saw the killer whales
\nBreaths in the air
\nNot in dingy blue pools
\nIn theme parks oh no
\nThose captured animals
\nWere tortured so<\/p>\n
Instinctive knowledge
\nFrom an ancestral age
\nits in their consciousness
\nFrom a past page
\nWhether a wild soul or a lost soul
\nInside
\nan artificial chlorinated pond
\nAll relied<\/p>\n
On the perfection the ocean devolved
\nThe wondrous prestige
\nThat the currents had solved
\nWhich evokes in their spirit
\nTheir coming their whole
\nBut is blocked by the prison
\nThat pickles their soul<\/p>\n
To me this is sacrosanct
\nAnd shouldn’t be
\nsaddled With untruths
\nAnd simplicity
\nIts a big complex world out there
\nStill to be seen
\nIts bond with existence
\nIncredibly green<\/p>\n
This amalgamation of missions
\nTo me, doesn’t mix very well
\nTheir fluidity
\nIs not so conducive
\nAnd the animals might
\nNot feel the wholeness
\nAs in fact right<\/p>\n
Oceans have everything
\nWe need to see
\nAll captive orcas
\nBack where they should be
\nNot in these tanks
\nBut in sea pens
\nAt least
\nThis present uttering
\nIs famine or feast<\/p>\n
It represents disarray
\nAnd turmoil to me
\nA convulsion of conscience
\nThat just shouldn’t be
\nThere will still be captivity
\nAnd thats ongoing
\nSupposedly under the auspices of knowing
\nRescued those terms nebulously
\nDrawn forth from capture
\nAnd exclusory<\/p>\n
I just don’t feel comfortable
\nWith this marriage today
\nIts seems pretty preclusive
\nAnd just not the way
\nForward
\nTogetherness on equal terms
\nAgain exposes a great can of worms<\/p>\n
Profit and power
\nThe psychopaths flower
\nThat blossoms enticing those who
\nFeel the great sense of need
\nThat came out of each seed
\nIts genetic blue print to do<\/p>\n
We all began where we all began
\nIn the oceans where light sprang to show
\nWhere myriad specimens accompanied us all
\nAt still greater depths they did grow
\nIn what is shallow pools entertainment venues
\nAn assemblage of people who are told
\nWhat to expect in the lavish arena
\nWhich is being constantly sold<\/p>\n
A barrage of sounds reach the Orca’s
\nWho conform to the parlance of those
\nWho feed them with dead fish and antibiotics
\nWith prozac and more I suppose
\nRepetition is then the new catchword
\nMonotony poses and will
\nEternity measured in moments
\nIn the unfathomable world of the still<\/p>\n
Posterity will not remember
\nThe mutable changes you made
\nThose tilikum babies you are holding
\nThey follow their father whose weighed
\nIn with 3 deaths and such neglect
\nSuch squalor such sadness and pain
\nFor the rest of their lives
\nThey will suffer the angst
\nAnd the permanence which was the main
\nSadness for causing such protest
\nOn the deaths in the Sea World enclave
\nAnd to the collaboration’,,kk
\nWhich time sadly can never save.<\/p>\n
