Six brothers formed the Mapogo Pride
\nIn Sabi Sands Reserve
\nEach was a massive muscled soul
\nWith so much strength and nerve<\/p>\n
Leading such a charmed life
\nHeading this great pride
\nConfident these custodians
\nWhich nobody has denied<\/p>\n
Impregnable invulnerable
\nUnassailable all six
\nAny stranger venturing close
\nWould be in some fix<\/p>\n
They were dangerous such protectors
\nOf their mighty pride
\nTheir warning scents
\nwere everywhere
\nIt was all within their stride<\/p>\n
To offer such protection
\nAnd the fatherly eye
\nDefenders anyone who dared
\nCome close was going to die<\/p>\n
Over forty Lions attempted
\nTo this and they died
\nAnd were eaten, thats the measure
\nOf the Mapogo Pride<\/p>\n
That is unprecedented
\nLions don’t eat each other
\nBut these six ruled their territory
\nBrother after brother<\/p>\n
As fierce as ever any Lion
\nAs really ever been
\nThey were huge their power of course immense
\nAnd in many ways obscene<\/p>\n
They put the fear of god
\nUp any stranger
\nUntil time moving on
\nKilled off the clan
\nAnd the Southern Pride
\nTook back some of the territory
\nLeaving two of the brothers
\nAnd the plan<\/p>\n
Makhulu and Pretty boy
\nthe last remaining two
\nWandered off to find a place
\nA sanctuary to do
\nA spot of resting till the end game
\nOne 14 and one 9
\nVery old for active souls
\nAnd each had worked the line<\/p>\n
Looking at them they were both
\nMagnificent to see
\nGreat big profound eyes of yellow
\nStaring into thee
\nEverything about them reminded us that they
\nWere The kings of their jungle
\nWho always got their way<\/p>\n
They were faultless with their strict command
\nParagons in fact
\nScatheless through their many battles
\nIn which they would react
\nWith a massive amount of anger
\nThey were vital they were sure
\nAnd any animal coming close
\nWould end up blood and gore<\/p>\n
They had struck an undertaking
\nTo protect and that they did
\nThey all swung into action
\nReady to lift the lid
\nTo implement the removal
\nOf any intruder who
\nThought to make their entrance
\nWhich quite a lot did do<\/p>\n
But all were rapidly torn apart
\nAnd eaten by the pride
\nNemesis had taken over
\nFor they all relied
\nOn the unity of the brothers
\nIt took them to great heights
\nEach trial of strength they so opposed
\nTurning off the lights<\/p>\n
Confronting all and sundry
\nWith the chivalry of war
\nThey mobilized their muscles
\nKnowing what they were fighting for
\nAnd because of this they have become
\nLegends in their life time
\nStories have been written
