Each sentient has a mind
\nTo do with how they feel
\nTo be one of the masses
\nThe herd, or to be real
\nEach is an individual
\nWith their own thoughts
\nAnd needs
\nSo why are so many followers
\nFor truly where that leads
\nIs a dumbing down a conformity
\nAcquiescing all the while
\nConsistent and conventional
\nJust a button on their dial<\/p>\n
Where have all the rebels gone
\nThe free spirited brigade
\nThe ones who play by their own rules
\nIrrespective of whether they are paid
\nNo one wants to be alone
\nThat is very true
\nBut sometimes we must sacrifice
\nAnd knowingly imbue
\nOurselves with inspiration
\nFrom Nature from the whole
\nTo just be independent
\nOf the propaganda role<\/p>\n
One such sentient earthling
\nWas a black wolf who had found
\nConforming brought its problems
\nJust a pattern on the ground
\nDefiant of bis parents
\nUnmalleable lets say
\nHe wanted to do his own thing
\nTo please himself and say
\nThe Bohemian life is more my style
\nAs I go on my way<\/p>\n
His demeanour was of ebony
\nEach hair the stroke of night
\nThe emblem of creation
\nWhere everything felt right
\nPiercing eyes all seeing
\nAnd musculature to match
\nA picture of masculinity
\nThe pick of the batch<\/p>\n
Always learned the hard way
\nNothing on his plate
\nHe had to go and search for it
\nHis oneness was his fate
\nRootless in so many ways
\nA wanderer in fact
\nIn the company of silence
\nIs why he did react<\/p>\n
Packs of wolves all over
\nClaiming territory
\nBut he would remain a solitary figure
\nAlways wild and free
\nRoaming in the shadows
\nHowling in the night
\nStealing through the hedgerows
\nIn his own bright light
\nHis newness of each moment
\nWas clearly in plain sight<\/p>\n
Dawn heralded his waking hours
\nAnd Dusk demanded rest
\nClearly he ran the gauntlet
\nHis experience would test
\nConvention every which way
\nThe unseasonable divide
\nA chameleon of virtue
\nThat bolstered up bis pride<\/p>\n
What was to be his destiny
\nOrdained or otherwise
\nSuggestive and inspiring
\nProvoking the surprise
\nOf other apex predators
\nWho he might amble near
\nAnd feel their teeth a moment
\nSomewhere near his ear<\/p>\n
The power trip never his domain
\nHis compass wasn’t to be
\nFollowed he ran with the wind
\nPrevailing constantly
\nBison were great brute forms
\nA single wolf would be
\nCrushed and broken by a charge
\nAll their capacity
\nAnd great weight around them
\nSo Black Wolf had to be
\nRestrained in what he chose to eat
\nFor such a solitary<\/p>\n
Cuts his cloth to standard
\nAnd generates his role
\nInterprets his initiative
\nAnd proves he is that soul
\nSmall mammals maybe salmon
\nIf they are rising with the stream
\nHe will go and catch them
\nRe living his dream<\/p>\n
He will venture closer to the humans
\nOn their road
\nTaking care to listen out
\nFor those trucks whose heavy load
\nCan cause wild souls great panic
\nSo many die this way
\nBut clearly its an artery
\nThrough neighbourhoods lets say<\/p>\n
And in his howling overtures
\nThe females might respond
\nAnd come to him for pleasures
\nAnd possibly have a bond
\nAn affection for the moment
\nA traveller lets say
\nWho with his independence
