Sky clad we dance in the forests of time
\nSpreading our branches as onward we climb
\nUpwards and outwards real sculptures we be
\nOur stillness is clearly so creatively
\nDrawing the energy out of the earth
\nAnd all of the goodness and all of its worth
\nGreat social beings harbingers we
\nOxygen given for eternity<\/p>\n
A melodious network of fungi below
\nSharing their messages helping the flow
\nSucking up nutrients making some more
\nAnd sharing the wealth that so many ignore<\/p>\n
The great city forests harmonious places
\nThe great mothers clamour seen on our faces
\nThe wind in the willows the hearts of the oak
\nThe echoes of the ancients that silently cloak
\nThe carpets of leaf mold that transmit their power
\nInto our saplings that burst on the hour<\/p>\n
Dendrology discovering darkness and light
\nDelving through destiny the great insight
\nThose ancient felled trunks kept sweeter
\nAnd still
\nAlive to remind us that they always will<\/p>\n
Receive our respect for their true incarnation
\nThey made us the spring board which is our salvation
\nWe sprung from their glory from their sweet domain
\nAnd by sharing their love we can only gain<\/p>\n
What is wrong with the human tribe
\nThe youth of the day
\nThey Imagine they know
\nAnd thus never say
\nThe elder has purpose the elder can see
\nBeyond the great digital world
\nThat now be<\/p>\n
Enclosing their hearts
\nand destroying their life
\nHuge violent storms
\nthat engage and the strife
\nIs killing the natural world
\ncircling high
\nIts the new world order
\nAnd their WIFI <\/p>\n
It is sucking out spirit
\ndestroying our soul
\nThe young disrespect
\ntheir elders control
\nThey imagine their intellect
\nfar beyond ours
\nThough Their footprint is huge
\nthough their lifespan just hours<\/p>\n
Their true DNA
\nis bombarded and they
\nWill not live as long
\nas the ancients whose way
\nWas to value the forest
\nand breathe in each tree
\nAnd hug us and see us
\nbut the children now be<\/p>\n
Hunched over their Ipads
\nand lap tops their eyes
\nBlinded by power
\nthat will host their demise
\nIts a raucous discord
\nthat brazenly blares
\nInto each sinew
\nthe strident despairs<\/p>\n
We the great trees
\neven we are aghast
\nFor we feel the evil too
\nand ever fast
\nThe sick tetra trees
\nnow posted beside
\nThey produce a cacophony
\nthats been denied<\/p>\n
They sicken by giving
\nthe harshest of sound
\nAnd drowning out
\nall of the nature around
\nIn dungeons in chains
\nThe electrical fix
\nThe hunters outside
\nKnocked all wild ones for six<\/p>\n
Why is it so many of you now
\nPrefer
\nTo sit in the darkness
\nIts as if you were
\nBlinded by light
\nBy the sweep of the blue
\nBy the sky and the countryside
\nSo part of you<\/p>\n
So failed to see all the wild animals
\nDie
\nAnd tree after tree
\nTorn down to lie
\nAnd you make your computer desks
\nWith our wood
\nImagining somehow
\nThat was as good<\/p>\n
Where did the trees go
\nThey one by one
\nWere polluted and felled
\nNow there are none
\nThe air that you breathe
\nIs terribly poor
\nThe lungs of the planet
\nYou all did ignore<\/p>\n
And now you are choking
\nAnd only the young
\nAre left in the dungeons
\nReally among
\nThe machines and the
\nSick
\nThe light taken away
\nYour backs are so bent
\nStaring at the display<\/p>\n
Your water is tainted
\nYour oxygen too
\nWIFI killed everything
\nYes that is true
\nThe bees and the birds
\nAnd every wild soul
\nYour elders are rotting
