The angst I feel
\nThe indifference
\nAltruistically they seemed
\nReady just to offer hope
\nInevitably, I dreamed<\/p>\n
The improbity of conscience
\nThe injustice that I feel
\nI stand here with my heavy heart
\nKnowing its for real
\nThere is no guilt apparently
\nAt least they took me in
\nThe bull hooks they have shown me
\nThere is no other sin<\/p>\n
I thought I was with angels
\nBut I realised they were
\nHiding and confiding
\nIt seems that they did err
\nThere is now no atonement
\nPurgatory for me
\nI am living in this LONGLEAT place
\nAs a solitary<\/p>\n
This existence is my penitence
\nJust hopelessness and despair
\nBriefly in the limelight
\nThe marketing boys did share
\nMy plight till it was over
\nA mere link in their chain
\nNo one remembers an elephant
\nStanding in the rain<\/p>\n
Forgotten in a moment
\nIn the clutter and the mud
\nStories come and stories go
\nSwallowed by the flood
\nI am lost and lonely
\nMy life is at an end
