A pride of twenty six is quite
\nA lesson for us all
\n16 female and 10 males
\nA very demanding school
\n2 males on the outskirts
\nScent marking every day
\nAnd roaring like the clappers
\nKeeping other males away<\/p>\n
Thats a lot of bodies
\nTo be fed to hunt and kill
\nWhen most of them are children
\nThey shout a lot but fill
\nTheir bellies they are not up to that
\nThey are greedy and know it all
\nBut its all down to us females
\nTo try to overhaul<\/p>\n
To get a kill is one thing
\nThats when the males begin
\nTo push their dominance onto us
\nAnd really try to win
\nWe ar doing all the donkey work
\nAnd then getting pushed around
\nTheybdo all the bullying
\nOn the bloody ground<\/p>\n
Some have had to clear off
\nOur battle with the clan
\nDid nothing really for our moral
\nAnd it still was hard to scan
\nThe hunt the way of victims
\nThe kill With novices here
\nHigh on arrogance and thats all
\nAnd still exerting fear<\/p>\n
Water is pretty easy
\nThe river is to where
\nBut meat it really must be caught
\nThe planning all must share
\nWe have a our great night vision
\nWhat we have to do
\nis chase and catch
\nAnd work as one
\nAnd be the hunting crew<\/p>\n
We managed to bag a Zebra
\nAnd tear it limb from limb
\nEat it whilst it was alive
\n18 lions the whim
\nOf all this torrid terror
\nOf fighting through a kill
\nScratching like so many morons
\nWounding each other till<\/p>\n
All of us are unhappy
\nThat will never do
\nWe have to learn to hunt together
\nOr fail you know its true
\nAnd then we find a Giraffe
\nAnd off he goes like mad
\nAgain we miss the target
\nWhich is altogether sad<\/p>\n
And then we find a Hippo
\n3 tons of flesh and blood
\n18 lions against one hippo
\nEasy pickings flood
\nThrough the youth all crazy
\nBut the hippo runs away
\nNot before it has crushed the head
\nOf a Lioness, and they say<\/p>\n
Its her lot, she is finished
\nA mortal violent blow
\nAnd once again no meat to eat
\nWe must get in the flow
\nWe have to learn to hunt and kill
\nAnd share and act as one
\nFor a pride to be successful
\nWhen all is said and done<\/p>\n
There’s enough food on the table
\nAnd we all learn how to be
\nHunters in this wilderness
\nBe diligent and see
\nThe game we have to catch them
\nWe have to make our kill
\nIf we all go hungry
\nIf blood we do not spill<\/p>\n
We really put ourselves at risk
\nWithout the guarantee
\nOf fresh meat on the table
\nWe are finished actually
\nAnd so we learn our lesson
\nhow ever hard it be
\nCatch and kill and share at will
