\nIn the Sunderbans in India
\nAnd many people pay
\nWith their lives
\nAllegations rife and of course the reason why
\nThese tigers hunt for humans

They truly are assertive
\nEmphatically they know
\nLaying stress on true surprise
\nThey are always in The flow
\nThe striped God rules this area
\nThey affirm their right to be
\nInsistent and so urgent
\nWith complete veracity<\/p>\n
Everything they ever eat
\nIs hunted down and killed
\nThese mangrove swamps
\nAre battlegrounds
\nAnd where the blood is spilled
\nThey are absolute killers
\nAn enigma actually
\nFrightfully efficient
\nWhich is how it has to be<\/p>\n
Isolated clumps of mud
\nIts a habitat beyond
\nReality their complexity
\nThey kind of have a bond
\nWith the environment around them
\nThey have the upper hand
\nAnd its not just sick and injured souls
\nThat kill and understand<\/p>\n
The nature of the human being
\nThe fisherman who come
\nThose who steal the honey
\nWith their hearts that drum
\nThis is tiger territory
\nA potent weapon here
\nAnd hundreds and hundreds
\nOf victims tragically
\nAppear<\/p>\n
Many unreported their bodies
\nSeldom found
\nThey track and hunt their own food
\nAnd they are pound for pound
\nReally awfully dangerous
\nTruly a potent force
\nAnd any human encroaching
\nMust realise their course<\/p>\n
The people though are so aware
\nThey appreciate the need
\nTo get their priests to
\nPray for them
\nIf they are to succeed
\nDespite the faith and the solemnity
\nStill the Tiger can
\nTake his favourite foodstuff
\nWhich happens to be man<\/p>\n
They are ferocious hunters
\nEquipped to kill on sight
\nYou may not even see them
\nBut they have their own light
\nThey swim they climb they run
\nThey have the strength of ambush they
\nAre the most majestic earthlings
\nIn the Sunderbans today<\/p>\n
They clearly love the water
\nAt swimming they are adept
\nThe environment so suits them
\nClearly they have been swept
\nAlong in the great currents
\nAnd strengthened by it all
\nAnd few have ever escaped an attack
\nWhen the tiger came to call<\/p>\n
Some do enter villages
\nBut uncannily have not
\nEver attacked the humans
\nIts the cattle humans have got
\nThat attracts the would be killers
\nAnd thus presents a case
\nWhy out there in the Sunderbans
\nDo they hunt the human race<\/p>\n
Clearly it is a mystery
\nHow the Tiger run their day
\nHow they live and what they cause
\nAnd,who they make pay
\nHow they drink salt water
\nWhich might encourage them to
\nTake on board the human flesh
\nAs they clearly do<\/p>\n
The tides could be the culprit
\nIts a mystery out there
\nIts certain that the tiger
\nLoves the human meat
\nSo aware<\/p>\n
They are out there in his kingdom
\nAnd some will pay the price
\nIts swift death comes immediately
\nAnd of course it is never nice
\nThey attack to the head from the right side
\nIts over in a way
\nAll the while they venture
\nIts inevitable some will pay<\/p>\n
There is no defence against them
\nTigers are in control
\nThey have such self reliance
\nThey understand their role
\nUndaunted bold and fearless
\nThe gods of this terrain
\nUnflinching and unshrinking
\nWhich is why in fact they gain<\/p>\n
In a hundred years 300 thousand
\nVictims there have been
\nAnd still,the fisherman go there
\nThe numbers are obscene
\nBut their livelihood is in the forest
\nIts what they have to do
\nAnd the tigers clearly like human flesh
\nA factor that rings true<\/p>\n
India clearly thought it through
\nThey set aside this place
\nFor tigers for the wild ones
\nWhere all the wild ones grace,
\nUnlike the global picture
\nWhere habitat loss is seen
\nIndia is all knowing and is sowing
\nThe seeds of green<\/p>\n
She values her wild charges
\nWhich proves to be a way
\nOf maintaining this wild area
\nTo its quality today
\nMen know their place
\nThe tiger he rules the kingdom here
