What and olfactory experience can we justify
\nThe stench of rotting flesh on skins that will
\nBe used to fashion into leather garments
\nOnly made from animals they kill
\nNo animal wants to die to just be carved up
\nIts skin torn off and chemicals applied
\nSo toxic are they, cancer is now waiting
\nTo have his way with those who have denied<\/p>\n
The very day of reckoning as victims on the wheel
\nWith a total lack of conscience
\nClearly they cannot feel
\nThe agony the earthlings went through
\nTheir whole skin torn
\nOff their dying bodies
\nWith about as much scorn<\/p>\n
The corruption of creation
\nSpread out for all to see
\nIn the filthy fetid toxic soup
\nThe small ponds now that be
\nDrawn from the slums of Dacca
\nThis nauseating smell
\nArsenic and chromium
\nAnd of course every hell<\/p>\n
On earth there ever could be
\nThis terribly obnoxious slime
\nIts the thing that softens these animal skins
\nOver the course of time
\nThose workers are scarred everywhere
\nTheir arms their legs their hands
\nLung cancers and nose cancers
\nIs there no one understands<\/p>\n
The Western clouds of vanity spread
\nThrough there and all about
\nEncouraging cheaper labour
\nA Bangladeshi rout
\n6 million waste from tanneries
\nWashes into streams and rivers and our livers
\nAnd thats without a doubt<\/p>\n
They are dying they are in great pain
\nThe poor who have to be
\nWorking in these slave pits where such adversity
\nIs commonplace its there and here and there its everywhere
\nThe workers wont reach 50 and live in constant fear<\/p>\n
Because we all want leather from markets and abroad
\nCheap leather! its cheap alright!
\nThey perish by the sword
\nIts torn off their aching bodies
\nFemales so abused
\nAnd it goes through chemical processes
\nAs the workers souls are abused<\/p>\n
And whats it for for our flashy coats
\nAnd for handbags and for shoes
\nThose poor female earthlings
\nHad no call to refuse
\nTheir maiming and their murder
\nAnd their agony they felt
\nOf course they screamed their heads off
\nBut the cards had all been dealt<\/p>\n
Luxury goods in fashion houses
\nUp and down the street
\nHow nice do you look in dead skins
\nYou cant feel their heart beat
\nNo. I know it stopped a while ago
\nBecause of you
\nBecause of your dark arrogance
\nAnd evil ignorance too<\/p>\n
6 million gallons of toxic
\nWaste run off into the streams
\nAnd onward into the rivers
\nLife there not for dreams

Leather. I never wear it
\nHemp and rubber me
\nCanvas, cotton always vegan
\nWearing them and I feel free
\nNot All of that designer stuff
\nThe Pretentious ugly look
\nMaking huge great profits
\nFrom me not a second look<\/p>\n
A government who doesn’t care
\nFor The market though its great
\nAnd its consigned to America
\nAnd to Europe
\nSo the fate
\nof millions of these animals
\nIs in the hands of those
\nRich pumped up young yuppies
\nWith so much that it flows<\/p>\n
A bit like polluted rivers
\nFull up with the sludge
\nThat gets caught up on bits of pram
\nAnd then it will not budge
\nIt hangs about polluting
\nEvery sodding where
\nThe children
\nGet their cancers
\nAnd suffer the despair<\/p>\n
Of knowing that the Western kids
\nAre getting leather shoes
\nLeather coats and leather hats
\nThey have nothing to lose
\nAs for the Bangladeshi kids
\nCancer is their prize
\nTheir parents suffering
