The ancient woods have seen it all
\nHave heard each constant sad refrain
\nBathed in sunlight on summer days
\nAnd seen the moonbeams through the rain<\/p>\n
Produced each seasons leaves so green
\nThe oxygen enrichment scene
\nCO2 their life giving gas
\nWhere nests are encouraged
\nAnd built en masse<\/p>\n
Where the wild folk live
\nAnd come to play
\nThe insect world there everyday
\nMoss and fungi’s footprints they
\nAccompany the trees that sway<\/p>\n
The litter rich with seeds and flowers
\nA space for lovers spending hours
\nSadly hunter psycho souls
\nAnd the trapper evil ghouls<\/p>\n
Vile contraptions and evil bows
\nAnd lead from shot
\nThat no one knows<\/p>\n
The eternal wood
\nA priceless place
\nWhere faeries dance
\nAnd dryads race<\/p>\n
Hares and badgers
\nFox and deer
\nExpend their youth
\nAnd share their cheer<\/p>\n
Tousled branches
\nRolling hearts
\nBark left curling
\nFerns and parts<\/p>\n
Of holly thorns
\nGreen and there
\nBrambles wild
\nTo catch and tear<\/p>\n
Lovers boughs
\nWhere picnics had
\nWhere tree huggers
\nAnd the jilted
\nSad<\/p>\n
Cry below
\nWelcomed of course
\nTo share their light
\nAnd dark
\nAnd reinforce<\/p>\n
Sculptures of a natural kind
\nFrazzled ferns
\nAnd bracken bind
\nImagine the faces
\nHere and there
\nAnd at night the eyes
\nAll so aware<\/p>\n
