{"id":26061,"date":"2016-01-27T18:33:47","date_gmt":"2016-01-27T18:33:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/?p=26061"},"modified":"2016-01-27T18:45:56","modified_gmt":"2016-01-27T18:45:56","slug":"tigers-do-better-in-the-wilds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/2016\/01\/tigers-do-better-in-the-wilds\/","title":{"rendered":"Tigers  and temples"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>How is it that Temples imagine that they<br \/>\nHave the know how and the foresight to manage and play<br \/>\nA part in the upkeep and physical need<br \/>\nOf an army of Tigers and hopefully feed<br \/>\nThe game plan is  nurture and show them some care<br \/>\nBut what I am seeing is more like despair<br \/>\nArrogance bullying and  taunting them they<br \/>\nAppear most unnatural With the tourists each day<\/p>\n<p>They do seem lethargic and inactive to me<br \/>\nUninspired and indifferent which really is key<br \/>\nMonastic life is the opposite end<br \/>\nOf the spectrum from where<br \/>\nWild Tigers might be having to depend<br \/>\nOn humans for everything, it seems to me<br \/>\nIt isn&#8217;t conducive so how can it be<br \/>\ndonations and admissions you would think<br \/>\nThat by now<br \/>\nWith the space and the numbers<br \/>\nThey must work out how<br \/>\nBut what it is not is a sanctuary<br \/>\nIts more like a circus thats if you ask me<\/p>\n<p>They are manhandled and frightened<br \/>\nBy arrogant men<br \/>\nNo doubt they are beaten<br \/>\nFor training  is when<br \/>\nOur eyes are not on them<br \/>\nAnd thus I see fear<br \/>\nThese are wild beasts and<br \/>\nTo me it is clear<\/p>\n<p>Then we hear in The dead of night<br \/>\nTraffickers come<br \/>\nHow can that be right<br \/>\nWhisking away Tigers thats what we hear<br \/>\nAnd replacing with others<br \/>\nSo the numbers are clear<\/p>\n<p>But the registered animals<br \/>\nSeemingly some<br \/>\nAre trafficked to Laos<br \/>\nUnder the thumb<br \/>\nOf the black marketeers<br \/>\nOf the gangsters and more<br \/>\nTigers are big money<br \/>\nThat is for sure<\/p>\n<p>Dead tiger bones<br \/>\nAre the creme of the creme<br \/>\nTiger tails tiger skins<br \/>\nThey are a gem<br \/>\nA jewel in the crown<br \/>\nOf those sordid enough<br \/>\nTo deal in wild animals<br \/>\nHowever rough<\/p>\n<p>And this is a lucrative hobby<br \/>\ni see<br \/>\nDenials of course from the monks<br \/>\nObviously<br \/>\nCubs also missing<br \/>\nIts inscrutable where<br \/>\nI think its absurd<br \/>\nThat they have Tigers there<\/p>\n<p>Its just a fantasy life for them<br \/>\nThey<br \/>\nGet despondent of course they do<br \/>\nWhen tourists pay<br \/>\nThey expect to manhandle<br \/>\nAnd sit on and play<br \/>\nThese are wild Tigers<br \/>\nAnd its hopeless to say<\/p>\n<p>147 of them should ever be there<br \/>\nIts a loveless existence<br \/>\nIts repugnant to share<br \/>\nA sterile habitat<br \/>\nAnd all dead food<br \/>\nThese are the nobility<br \/>\nFed by the crude<\/p>\n<p>There is no humility<br \/>\nNot that I can see<br \/>\nJust taunting and sadness<br \/>\nAnd discourtesy<br \/>\nThe keepers are upstarts<br \/>\nPetulant sods<br \/>\nInsulting and shameless<br \/>\nWith sticks and with rods<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t feel the peace<br \/>\nThe affection that should<br \/>\nBe gracious and welcoming<br \/>\nIts just not good<br \/>\nAnd with all the stories<br \/>\nIt just makes me feel<br \/>\nThat this tiger temple<br \/>\nIt just isn&#8217;t real<\/p>\n<p>Its unmindful and stressful<br \/>\nNormality no<br \/>\nHonourable not really<br \/>\nPart of some show<br \/>\nWe make our assumptions<br \/>\nI am sure many do<br \/>\nBut a temple is no place<br \/>\nFor Tigers and few<br \/>\nCan imagine the husbandry there<br \/>\nAnd now the corruption<br \/>\nThat appears to poke through<\/p>\n<p>In a sea of morality<br \/>\nSomething feels wrong<br \/>\nIts a spurious thought<br \/>\nBut it seems all along<br \/>\nPeople are saying<br \/>\nThings are going on<br \/>\nAnimals are missing<br \/>\nIs it some con<br \/>\nIts not above board<br \/>\nThats if you ask me<br \/>\nAnd the TIGER boys suffer<br \/>\nLamentably<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How is it that Temples imagine that they Have the know how and the foresight to manage and play A part in the upkeep and physical need Of an army of Tigers and hopefully feed The game plan is nurture &hellip;
