<\/em>I gave my life
\nSo others might live
\nBut so many are dying still
\nSadly we give
\nLittle attention to those
\nvictims who
\nsuffer in silence
\nfor the corporates who
\nUsing money, warped minds
\nfrom the medical world
\nWho will torture and kill
\nHaving churlishly hurled
\nTheir ethics away
\nFor the wages they get
\nCreating and evil
\nand sad karmic debt<\/p>\n

Barry Horne born,
\nin Liverpool,He
\nLeft school at 15 and seemed lost
\nfrantically,
\nbecame a road sweeper
\na Dustman until
\nhe moved to Northampton
\nand got quite a fill
\nOf the animal rights or wrongs
\nand became
\nVegetarian and his pure heart
\nwas aflame.<\/p>\n

With the evils of experimentation
\nhe saw
\nWith the shops selling fur
\nWhich he did abhor
\nThe hags on the catwalk
\nimagining they,
\ncould wear
\nanimal fur in a beautiful way
\nThe designers who he thought
\nremained too aloof
\nSaw the trade in trapped animals
\ngo through the roof<\/p>\n

And the Government agencies
\njust bottled out
\nAnd the public appeared
\noverwhelmed and in doubt
\nHe went on a hunger strike
\nthat did destroy
\nHis organs and weaken him
\nHe did employ
\nhis energies
\nstill in fighting the cause
\nThe dolphin in Lancashire
\nThe incendaries, pause
\n18 years he sent down
\nAnimals, had no rights
\nThey were tortured and slaughtered
\nout of our sights<\/p>\n

forsaken and broken
\nlost, let us say
\nIn the corporate jungle
\nof hate and dismay.
\nOn the 5th Of November
\n2001
\nHis soul left his body
\nand rose to the sun
\nHe was quite the angel
\nas many could see
\nBut as weak as he was
\nLife left him tragically<\/p>\n

Behind those locked doors
\nthe scalpels did cut
\nSadists were at it
\nopen and shut
\nExperimentation by those
\nwhite coats who
\nhad their brains sucked away
\nBy the corporate few
\nDismemberment happened
\nday in and day out
\nThe Law was an ass
\nThere was not any doubt
\nThe animals sufferred
\nand few people cared
\nResults came about
\nfrom those who were spared<\/p>\n

Who took it upon themselves
\nto enter and show
\nThe world what was happening
\nand now most know
\nBut few are prepared
\nto take on their case
\nHumans priority
\nthe human race
\nfor they have the money
\nthus they have the power
\nand can maintain the lifestyles
\nOf the chemical shower
\nThe Governments propped up
\nBy Corporate power
\nSupporting the murdering scum
\ndo allow<\/p>\n

Licence to maim,to experiment on
\nIn the great name of Science
\nAnd so many have gone
\nTo the bins to be chopped up
\nas food for the pets
\nThe Government takes VAT
\nand just lets
\nThe fodder the dead souls
\nBe ground in this way
\nThe corporates profit
\nand so it does pay
\nBarry Horne knew this
\nHe felt for his friends
\nThe voiceless the choiceless
\nWhom no one defends
\nHe felt their agony
\nHe felt their pain
\nAnd he destroyed himself
\nIn his spirit to gain<\/p>\n

He was an angel of mercy
\nfor he
\nThough described as a terrorist
\nsome now can see
\nHe was right, and his sacrifice
\nbrought to a head
\nThe terrible waste of life
\nbut he was dead
\nBut ALF carries on
\nhis seeds have been sown
\nThe ugliness carries on
\nMore than was known
\nThe corporate struggle
\nto maximise power
\nTo make rafts of profit
\nJust any old how
\nContinues, and people like
\nBarry will be
\nemerging and converging
\nOn their history
\nSomething must happen
\nThe killing must stop
\nWhen the great Pharmaceutical giants
\nwill flop
\nHaving slaughtered the animals
\nand indeed the poor
\nThey will feel the backlash
\nlike never before.<\/p>\n
