It happened at Baldwin Park Animal Services
\nOne little dog he just cried
\nBeside himself lost to the world
\nHis whole being was denied
\nTossed on the scrap heap of dignity
\nLost in a threatening field
\nDivorced of humanity
\nClose to insanity
\nAt that moment it all was revealed<\/p>\n
The ungraciousness of human beings
\nTheir offhandedness and boorish style
\nLeft in a place alone without trace
\nTo lay down and die for a while
\nJust looking out of a cage into no where
\nHearing the sounds on the street
\nBut nobody caring and nobody sharing
\nOnly him feeling the heat<\/p>\n
The family who loved him
\nSupposedly
\nLeft him and just went away
\nThis is the human phenomena
\nThis is what happens today
\nEveryone has their agenda
\nAnd if you are not on it
\nToo bad
\nYou are a waif and stray
\nNot worth the time of day
\nYes life for you can be sad<\/p>\n
You are only a dog when it boils down to life
\nNot worth an extra hour
\nOf anyones time
\nAnd if you can’t climb
\nOut of your pit well then now<\/p>\n
You have to put up or shut up
\nNobody cares any more
\nThat you need the love of a human
\nYou who sit there on the floor<\/p>\n
Cry bark and yelp what are you on
\nWe decide what you must do
\nAnd if you are sad or if you feel bad
\nWe humans feel that way too<\/p>\n
You want us to pat you
\nTo feed you
\nTo share with you our nice home
\nWhat are you going to give back in response
\nNothing just more work
\nA tome<\/p>\n
Could be written about all the stray dogs
\nAnd you are just one of that bunch
\nNothing to look at why should we care
\nWhy should we give you our lunch?<\/p>\n
And this is the thought in this little dogs mind
\nLost on the planet of woe
\nWhere if you have four legs
\nAnd bark at the burglars
\nSadly now you have to go<\/p>\n
Nobody want to go walk in the rain
\nThe kids want to watch the TV
\nOr their playing on mind craft
\nYou are a nuisance
\nYou see<\/p>\n
And picking up poops no one wants to
\nAnd leaving them there isn’t right
\nSo really we would rather see you in books
\nThan really have you in plain sight<\/p>\n
This little soul has reached into someones heart
\nAnd they have adopted him so a lovely end to what appeared
