A despicable conclusion to a cowardly
\nWay of life
\nOr should I say existence
\nIn our world of utter strife
\nThe canned hunters low on thoughtfulness
\nTheir ego’s blazing high
\nHave gone and killed an innocent
\nWith real fire in its eye<\/p>\n
Paid their lousy pittance
\nTheir ill gotten gains across
\nAccessing true violence
\nThey didn’t give a toss
\nFor a Lion with natural spirit
\nWith a woeful turn of heel
\nThey gunned the animal earthling down
\nAnd didn’t even feel<\/p>\n
Anything the heartless brutes
\nThe vile and ugly knaves
\nRuffians of roguery
\nThat can only fail
\nSlobs who sit their smiling
\nWith the Lion propped up and dead
\nAnd leafy necklace around its throat
\nAs I gaze at its sad head<\/p>\n
This is their so called trophy
\nThis is their desire
\nDisrespectful bastards
\nWith their gloating dark attire
\nIll wishing cussed and spiteful
\nA malignant bunch of ill
\nLets curse the ground they sit upon
\nFor we have had our fill<\/p>\n
Of their threatening behaviour
\nTheir ominous display
\nTheir sabre rattling bluster
\nTheir conscience shot away
\nHooligans of horror
\nVandals of the night
\nRecidivists whose recklessness
\nHave withdrawn this earthlings light<\/p>\n
Sent its soul to the summer bridge
\nIts mouth propped open so
\nWe all can see its canines
\nIn the night they almost glow
\nA ring of leaves placed sadistically
\nAround the dead lions throat
\nI commiserate with its spirit
\nThe unbeholden note<\/p>\n
It took all of those evil men’s
\nWild justice to proclaim
\nThey were the avengers
\nHe perished in a flame
\nOf ugliness and envy
\nFor a wild soul who once felt
\nA freedom from our shackles
\nAs before their guns he knelt<\/p>\n
They paid with dirty money
\nStolen from the poor
\nExacted from the children
\nFed on blood and gore
\nVindictive spiteful monsters
\nBreathing sharing air
\nWith courage and with gratitude
