\nIn the northern most part
\nOf Malaysia
\nIn the jungles and we give
\nA lot back to the jungle
\nAs much as we take away
\nIts all about respect out there
\nWhatever people say
\nAnd each day as hunters we are
\nForced to go out to find our food
\nThere are no shops for many miles
\nAs a people we exude<\/p>\n
Confidence
\nin jungles
\nWe hunt for all we eat
\nWe use the simplest weapons
\nWhich we make now to compete
\nWith the many wilder animals
\nThat frequent the jungle and
\nCompete really on equal terms
\nAll living off the land<\/p>\n
We hunt monkey we hunt squirrels
\nAnd some times porcupine
\nWe catch fish in the river
\nAnd the community does dine
\nWe share the jungle pastures
\nWith elephants and more
\nWith tigers and with monkeys
\nAnd the habitat is our store<\/p>\n
Everything comes out of it
\nFood and weaponry
\nClothing we get our medicines
\nAll of it for free
\nAnd we use every part of what we get
\nWaste is not our thing
\nWe cannot raise farm animals
\nBecause Tigers are the king<\/p>\n

\nAnd so we hunt our game
\nWe so not use guns only blowpipes
\nThats our claim to fame<\/p>\n
We are indigenous hunters
\nWe only take what we
\nNeed to feed each other with
\nAnd we take it regularly
\nOur macrobiotic diet
\nGives us what we need each day
\nAnd its all fresh from the jungle
\nFor that is the jahai way<\/p>\n
Hunting is very dangerous
\nStealth is our quality
\nWe walk bare foot most of the time
\nAnd our eyes can always see
\nShelter food and weapons
\nAre all made by us
\nWe track we use the herbal stuff
\nAnd our lives are free of fuss<\/p>\n
We always catch the monkeys
\nAbout 40per cent we eat
\nCatching them by poisoned dart
\nAnd its very hard to beat
\nFor taste and for nutrition
\nBut we do like porcupine
\nWhich we smoke our of their burrows
\nAnd we use their spine<\/p>\n
Some city dwellers frown upon the hunter
\nIn this day
\nBut we live in the densest jungle
\nVery far away
\nFrom cities or from built up towns
\nOur home has always been
\nAmongst the greenest jungle
\nAway from the machine<\/p>\n
We are the jungle people
\nLiving alongside
\nOf course the jungle animals
\nWho generally hide
\nThey live their lives
\nAnd we live ours
\nThat is what we do
\nWe take some bush meat every day
\nAnd fruits and green things too<\/p>\n
We use tree and plant poisons
\nTo catch fish in the streams
\nAnd to poison our blow pipe darts
\nAnd so reduce the screams
\nWe have to be so careful
\nWhen handling the darts
\nBecause if they prick our skin at all
\nDeath quickly imparts<\/p>\n
We learn to know the jungle
\nTo walk with silent stride
\nTo only take what we do need
\nAnd instinctively to hide
\nTo know the ways of animals
\nTo respect them anyway
\nTo be aware of the Tigers
\nAnd the Elephants who stay<\/p>\n
We never leave our village
\nFor the cities far away
\nWe have no means of buying
\nThings or riding anyway
\nWe walk and are self sufficient
\nIn everything we do
\nWe never waste or pollute
\nOur jungle
\nNeither should any of you<\/p>\n
