RAJU has just been taken from his life
\nOf cruelty
\nTransported more than 300 miles
\nBy truck now fortunately
\nIt was a hairy rescue
\nThe owner tried real hard
\nExpecting the Ele to run them down
\nTo really mark their card<\/p>\n
But he sensed it was going to be
\nA rescue and stayed calm
\nChained and tortured for years on end
\nHe had come to so much harm
\nHe body was racked with injuries
\nWith wounds and cuts and scars
\nHe had been whipped and kicked
\nAnd bull hooked
\nAnd had seen many stars<\/p>\n
His skin was dry and lifeless
\nHis legs arthritic and sore
\nHis feet were full of bloody lesions
\nHis tail bared and so sore
\nHis rotten previous owner
\nHad plucked out all the hair
\nTo sell it to the tourists as good luck
\nCharms Aware
\nNo not on your nellie nobody is aware
\nTo the cruelty and the savagery
\nAnd the punishment thats there<\/p>\n
He is highly intelligent
\nAs his rescue had begun
\nHe actually cried his heart out
\nHe was happy with what they had done
\nHis legs were chained and bleeding
\nAnd very very sore
\nHe was suffering so very much
\nAnd he couldn’t take much more<\/p>\n
Poor Raju is now housed in a sanctuary
\nAway far away from the mad man who
\nHurt him every day
\nFor fifty solid years poor Raju
\nCried his heart out and
\nHad to do all sorts menial tasks
\nAcross the land<\/p>\n
Which is why his feet were painful
\nWith very ugly scars
\nHe was fed on paper and plastic
\nAnd little bars
\nOf wood no real nutritious food
\nHis body wasting away
\nHe must have dreamed forever
\nOf this special day<\/p>\n
He is already walking free
\nNot one chain he wears
\nWhat this feels like to raju
\nMust answer all his prayers
\nHe couldn’t run the rescuers down
\nAs his previous masters ruled
\nHe was gentle he was masterful
\nHe just carefully hauled<\/p>\n
His tired and wretched body
\nForward into the truck
\nSlowly he walked as many talked
\nHis previous life did suck<\/p>\n
We must really feel his agony
\nHis frustration no wonder he
\nWas going down hill every day
\nReally rapidly
\nHis skin colour was awful the cracking
\nVery sore
\nNobody cared about him
\nIts as if they were at war<\/p>\n
They never did look after him
\nHis nutrition was a mess
\nNobody really loved him
\nAll he got was stress
\nHow he didn’t top himself
\nAnd run into the town
\nWell clearly this sad life
\nOf his
\nIt really got him down<\/p>\n
And now the end of suffering
\nIs closer than we all think
\nHe is now in a sanctuary
\nTaken off from the brink
\nThe torture that was handed out
\nWas abysmal from the start
\nMetered out by a junkie
