{"id":25830,"date":"2016-01-13T22:06:07","date_gmt":"2016-01-13T22:06:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/?p=25830"},"modified":"2016-01-13T22:11:23","modified_gmt":"2016-01-13T22:11:23","slug":"the-dog-from-udaipur","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/2016\/01\/the-dog-from-udaipur\/","title":{"rendered":"The dog from Udaipur"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the Aravalli ranges<br \/>\nOf Rajastan they found<br \/>\nA little dog soaked in  hot tar<br \/>\nJust lying on the ground<br \/>\nIn Udaipur city of Lakes<br \/>\nWide eyed but so forlorn<br \/>\nClearly the tar was baking dry<br \/>\nAnd he wished he had not been born<\/p>\n<p>He was more a living statue<br \/>\nUnable to move<br \/>\nStuck fast smelling terribly<br \/>\nJust not in the groove<br \/>\nLaying really waiting<br \/>\nFor death to come and take<br \/>\nHim wherever that was<br \/>\nHis last journey<br \/>\nAs his  heart did break<\/p>\n<p>And then out of the blue<br \/>\nAnimal aid was on his case<br \/>\nDedicated carers<br \/>\nAngels a sweet race<br \/>\nOf beings sent to aid him<br \/>\nLove him and so care<br \/>\nWith vegetable oil<br \/>\nAnd hours of work<br \/>\nAnd their patience to share<\/p>\n<p>How could that dog have imagined<br \/>\nHe would have to die<br \/>\nNobody could help him now<br \/>\nWould anyone ever try<br \/>\nToo far gone and soaked up<br \/>\nWith what is a violent mess<br \/>\nCould anyone would anyone relieve<br \/>\nHim of his stress<\/p>\n<p>The universe has people<br \/>\nMany live around<br \/>\nSome are good some are bad<br \/>\nHe was just a hound<br \/>\nA stray that walked the dusty streets<br \/>\nWould anybody care<br \/>\nThey came a lovely bunch of souls<br \/>\nAll clearly so aware<\/p>\n<p>Anointing him with vegetable oil<br \/>\nA safer means to clean<br \/>\nAnd love and care in abundance<br \/>\nBuilding up a sheen<br \/>\nRemoving as they went along<br \/>\nUsing their tips to roll<br \/>\nLittle balls of it away<br \/>\nAnd continue to console<\/p>\n<p>His eyes looked to the heavens<br \/>\nSo caked up in this stuff<br \/>\nHe was in a kind of bubble<br \/>\nClearly had had enough<br \/>\nBut new hope was forthcoming<br \/>\nTheir soft hands on his soul<br \/>\nThey were gentle they lovely<br \/>\nAlways in control<\/p>\n<p>Not hurting or squeezing nothing<br \/>\nLike that just massage soft<br \/>\nNerve endings muscles every part<br \/>\nLike a floating aloft<br \/>\nOn clouds of blue in heaven<br \/>\nThat was how he felt<br \/>\nWith angels all around him<br \/>\nAs close to him they knelt<\/p>\n<p>The sensation of creation<br \/>\nThe relation of it all<br \/>\nHis sixth sense saw salvation<br \/>\nA satisfying call<br \/>\nDistress had been his enemy<br \/>\nAdversity his pain<br \/>\nThe agony of a slow death<br \/>\nWhere life was just in vain<\/p>\n<p>He had felt like a furnace<br \/>\nAnd now felt as chill<br \/>\nShock was clearly on his mind<br \/>\nHe certainly had had his fill<br \/>\nThe melody and magic as parts of him were<br \/>\nClean<br \/>\nAnd massaged very gently<br \/>\nHe was not a machine<\/p>\n<p>But a very sensitive fellow<br \/>\nWith a fur that did look good<br \/>\nBut luminaries were with him<br \/>\nDoing all they could<br \/>\nTo give him back some dignity<br \/>\nSome honour through their care<br \/>\nTo bring him back to reality<br \/>\nAnd make him so aware<\/p>\n<p>Some humans do love animals<br \/>\nOther its true do not<br \/>\nHe was very fortunate<br \/>\nBecause he was loved a lot<br \/>\nHours and hours of gentleness<br \/>\nOf pondering and care<br \/>\nOf thoughtfulness and contemplation<br \/>\nFor him lying there<\/p>\n<p>Near to the Gujarat border<br \/>\nA lovely place to be<br \/>\nWhere if he did get well again<br \/>\nThe sights and sounds could see<br \/>\nThe vegetable oil was removing<br \/>\nThe deadly awful tar<br \/>\nLeaving his skin feeling wonderful<br \/>\nAnd it all came from a jar<\/p>\n<p>With diligence and attentiveness<br \/>\nThoroughness and probity<br \/>\nWatchfulness and alertness<br \/>\nThey were able  to be<br \/>\nCertain of their methods<br \/>\nAnd a lasting recovery<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the Aravalli ranges Of Rajastan they found A little dog soaked in hot tar Just lying on the ground In Udaipur city of Lakes Wide eyed but so forlorn Clearly the tar was baking dry And he wished he &hellip;
