We are what we are

\nOur feet in the soil
\nThe wind was our spur
\nTo greater things really
\nWe felt with our eyes
\nWe knew when the men

Our roots went down deep
\nWe sustained ourselves well
\nWe knew those old mountains
\nBackdrops for each spell
\nWhere did we come from
\nFrom a mother who knew
\nThe ways of the old craft
\nAnd we lived it too<\/p>\n
We took on the toughness
\nThe wind and the rain
\nNothing does phase us
\nWe are a link in a chain
\nThat stretches for miles
\nWe are what we are
\nBorn of the druids
\nIn our world we star<\/p>\n
In our veins we have blood
\nAs rich as can be
\nWild food and fire
\nWe ate constantly
\nWe knew a great deal
\nSunk in our sinew
\nThe ways of the old ones
\nWe knew what to do<\/p>\n
We sat by the fireside
\nAnd watched our mama
\nCuring the sickness
\nAlmost from afar
\nThe berries the leaves
\nThe roots that she kept
\nBy the besom the fireside
\nShe was so adept<\/p>\n
We learned so much from her
\nWe felt with our eyes
\nWe saw with our hearts
\nThe men who told lies
\nThe past was our learning
\nAnd we are still here
\nWatching and listening
\nFilled with all that cheer<\/p>\n
