Encouraging a little deer
\nWho was knocked down by a car
\nTo not give up on life yet
\nFrom the wood where she did star
\nWith all the owls and crow boys
\nWith other wild souls too
\nIt was important for her to live
\nAnd do what sweet deers do<\/p>\n
But she was by the roadside
\nA collision had cut her face
\nShe was bleeding from a head wound
\nHer heart now at a pace
\nBleeding from a mouth wound
\nAnd feeling the worse for wear
\nTill an angel came to rescue her
\nAnd her aches and pains to share<\/p>\n
He examined her and gently placed her in his car
\nWrapping her and off he went
\nIt wasn’t all that far
\nTo the veterinary office
\nAnd into the surgery
\nWhere the little deer was stitched up
\nAnd clearly soon would be<\/p>\n
Back beside the wood where she
\nCame from and we saw
\nThe angel take her to the woods
\nAnd set her down, unsure
\nShe wanted to just sit there
\nHer confidence still knocked
\nBut the angel he continued
\nTo assist her though she blocked<\/p>\n
His efforts for a while in fact
\nAs gradually she could see
\nThat she was back in the wood again
\nClose to the same oak tree
\nTo the same part where she had been knocked down
\nHer place her wild place
\nAnd already she was gaining strength
\nAnd was gaining pace<\/p>\n
More confident still rocky but eyes wide open she
\nWalked into a copse and she was gone again quite free
\nThe angel he had saved her
\nShe was happy hopefully
\nWith the analgesic wearing off
\nIn pain still possibly
\nBut back in the dark wooded vale
\nHer home where she was born
\nAmong the silver birth and beech
\nAnd close to the silver thorn<\/p>\n
Remember when you are driving
\nAnywhere near a wood
\nSlow down take a little longer
\nYou know you really should
\nWild folk need a little space
\nAnd we should be aware
\nTry not to injure anything
