Our imagination enlivened
\nA dream state in regard
\nThe rural nature of our lives
\nCaptured by a bard
\nWho puts his pen to paper
\nWho lends his ears to hear
\nWho watches all the dancing
\nAnd knows now just how clear<\/p>\n
It is to see their costumes
\nTattered rags that drape
\nSewn in different layers
\nThe shaggy kind of cape
\nAn animal earthling coming closer
\nOn a misty plain
\nThe spiritual dimension
\nOver and over again<\/p>\n
Honouring the vanquished
\nThe hunted and the lost
\nThe archaic bridge to the Summer Land
\nWhich sadly has now cost
\nUs all a lot of heart ache
\nHumility we need
\nEmpathy for all the souls
\nWho are hung up to bleed<\/p>\n
Out their life’s blood streaming
\nAnd with it all their thought
\nAll their precious memories
\nThat in their cells were caught
\nThe thrust that tears the trachea
\nAnd reaps the life force and
\nSees the body languid but fails
\nTo understand<\/p>\n
The last dance of the dying
\nThe last spurt of their blood
\nAs they are torn a’sunder
\nSurely as a flood
\nOur tears are ours forever
\nThe memories you have gone
\nIf only they could see us
