At winter solstice
\nThe term is Yule
\nWhen the wintry bite is cruel
\nIts then we frequently sit close by
\nThe fire of life and remember why<\/p>\n
A toasting fork some home made bread
\nA bowl of chestnuts and that said
\nEven marshmallows the vegan kind
\nWatch the flames and clear the mind<\/p>\n
The return of the sun
\nAnd the light force too
\nLets think of Odin
\nAnd wander through
\nThe annuls of time
\nWhen ancestors too
\nSat by the fire
\nAs we now do<\/p>\n
As December advances
\nTowards the day
\nWhen the children
\nHappily come to play
\nLets go out for a walk
\nIn the frosty air
\nGet closer to Nature
\nAnd try and share<\/p>\n
Some mindfulness
\nYea hug a tree
\nIts waiting for a hug
\nYou see
\nIt stands there hoping
\nAll the year
\nFor the yuletide
