The Barbecue at Sue and Kevin’s place
\nIn their garden green
\nThe reason is the guests are dogs
\nSix of them And the scene
\nis geniality
\nIts a once a year thing they
\nAll look forward to it
\nHaving it on Christmas Day
\nOr Yule thats what it is known as
\nAnd its quite a game of chance
\nSue and Kevin cook up bones
\nWhilst donkey does his dance<\/p>\n
Johnty and Tessa the labradors
\nThe munchies they adore
\nChuckie he is the PIttie type
\nWhose always very sure
\ndonkeys he is the smallest
\nA little black and tan
\nLoves to dance about a bit
\nAnd really he is a fan<\/p>\n
Tegan likes to lay and watch
\nInsects on the lawn
\nMax and Skam are cats
\nThey clam
\nup, it seems and yawn
\nBut when the fire is burning
\nAnd the moths are around the flame
\nThats when Mr Smeagol’s
\nhobbit impressions bring him fame
\nMax and Skam are moggies
\nAnd tease the dogs like mad
\nSusan is their mummy
\nAnd Kevin is their dad<\/p>\n
Animals have memories
\nAnimals, they know
\nWhen its getting near to Yule
\nThey hear the HO ho ho
\nThe big man on the chimney stack
\nPracticing like mad
\nAt climbing down the chimney
\nWith presents that he had
\nMade in a far off factory
\nAnd brought in via a sleigh
\nWith bells and and jingle jangles
\nIts the order of the day<\/p>\n
A barbecue with soup bones
\nBoiled up an aperitif
\nIts gets them really jumping
\nAnd its so good for their teeth
\nThey interact and clearly enjoy
\nThe merry spree
\nOf eating dancing and playing
\nIts where they like to be<\/p>\n
Slurping up the soup
\nAnd crunching down on bone
\nAll the animals love the party
\nThe past times it has shown
\nHow Mr Smeagol does his dance
\nAnd remember the GOllum accent
\nPossibly by chance<\/p>\n
South Africa is hot some days
\nBaking on the ground
\nBut in the evening it can get
\nCooler I have found
\nAnd so generally they set it
\nAnd, watch how it burns
\nWith whole logs after kindling
\nThat truthfully it turns<\/p>\n
They all love their mummy
\nSusan does them proud
\nThe soup bones are an instant hit
\nAnd of course then they all crowd
\nAround her feet a yelping
\n“Can we have some more”
\nThis is what our bones need
\nAnd we so adore<\/p>\n
Chuckie can be funny
\nOften he exclaims
\nMy name comes from the Cinema
\nA film and then he names
\nChuckie yes the demon doll
\nWho puts the wind up some
\nBut says that he is not like that
\nAnd will always be their chum<\/p>\n
Johnty and Tessa the Labradors
\nAre friendly oh they are
\nNothing they wouldn’t do for you
\nAnd they can run quite far
\nThey love to eat the munchies
\nBut washed down with some stock
\nMr Smeagol has good hobbits
\nAnd really is a rock
\nSusan really is drawn to him
\nHe is a handsome lad
\nStrong and bold and is clearly sold
\nOn Susan and his dad
\nDonkey he’s the black and tan terrier
\nQuite small
\nThats why they call him donkey
\nTo give him face thats all
\nTegan he is the Ridgeback cross
\nAnother handsome soul
\nLikes to lay out on the grass
\nAnd kind of take control<\/p>\n
Max and skam they run about
\nAnd like to climb up trees
\nBalls of cord can test their nerve
\nAs can the honey bees
\nIts a happy household
\nA menagerie of sorts
\nA really loving place to be
\nWith all those AR thoughts<\/p>\n
The barbecue is imminent
\nThe dogs all know the time
\nYou can feel their excitement growing
\nIt doesn’t need this rhyme
\nIt is poetry in motion
\nTo see and feel their glee
\nAs they slurp down all their lovely soup
\nAnd then come and lick me<\/p>\n
This household is so fabulous
\nThe animals they know
\nTheir human friends are wonderful
\nAnd just to really grow
\nUp in such a household
\nWhere the humans love and care
\nIs brilliant its beyond all words
\nAnd we all love it there<\/p>\n
And really we all get on
\nWe all are rescued hounds
\nEven the cats are rescued
\nSo really we have grounds
\nTo stay here for together
\nThanks to dearest sue
\nIts just like rainbow bridge on earth
