She was thirty three years young
\nOur dearest Mjudjie
\nOn affection she nurturing and kind
\nMothering so many baby Vervets
\nA surrogate with such a lovely mind<\/p>\n
She closed her eyes and passed
\nThe rainbow bridge no doubt is where
\nShe hangs upon some glorious tree
\nHappily aware
\nOf all the fruits and insects
\nAnd flowers and leaves that she
\nWill taste and chew forever
\nOn the sweetest tallest tree<\/p>\n
She was self conscious and
\nsentient
\nA responsiveness to boot
\nAn attitude of sharing
\nReally from the root
\nAn unction to be earnest
\nAnd did so through and through
\nA member of the family
\nAlways good and true<\/p>\n
That they must die
\nAnd leave us
\nBrings the tears to flood
\nIts very hard to lose her
\nA sympathetic bud
\nOf genius within her soul
\nA heart as big as she
\nTo humans and to vervet’s
\nWho She cared for tenderly<\/p>\n
She just had loads of spirit
\nAn ecstasy of joy
\nDelighted and enraptured
\nWith any simple toy
\nShe would play and show the babies
\nEach blissful interlude
\nIn the haunting world
\nOf primates
\nHer amazing attitude<\/p>\n
And can we bear her passing
\nEach scurry sent us wild
\nTo us she was so special
\nAnd a lovely little child
\nTo lose her is so saddening
\nIts difficult not to weep
\nTo know I cannot gaze at her
\nAnd see her in my sleep<\/p>\n
To share that wealth of knowledge
\nShe was clearly in her prime
\nHer loving heart was so immense
\nThe great passing of time
\nTook her onto higher plains
\nBeyond the jungle roar
\nAnd we shall miss her dreadfully
\nReally for evermore<\/p>\n
