\nThe immortal ones are here
\nStealthily they cross this land
\nOf India and its clear
\nHundreds of pounds of muscle
\nCanines sharp and white
\nAmazing stripes each different
\nBringers of the light<\/p>\n
We see a beautiful female
\nShe Lives inside the fort
\nA paradise is out there
\nIn this bubble she is caught
\nShe flaunts it, she’s exciting
\nA loner full of fight
\nIn these idyllic settings
\nShe carries that great light<\/p>\n
Its a pretty frantic period
\nFor the tigress she will mate
\nHave cubs and bring them up
\nand what will be their fate
\nThey have a great deal they must learn
\nAnd she must feed them till
\nThey have their knowledge in their grasp
\nAnd With one look they can chill<\/p>\n
The iconic true blown Tiger
\nCan run at quite a pace
\nCan catch the spotted deer
\nAnd drag the carcass in a race
\nTo get it to her babies
\nIts no mean feat to try
\nAnd drag a body several miles
\nSuch power she does apply<\/p>\n
A mother is a special soul
\nCaring beyond belief
\nStrong and wise and her future relies
\nOn not coming to grief
\nRazor sharp barbs on her tongue
\nCan strip the skin and show
\nJust what a Tigers capable of
\nAnd how fast they grow<\/p>\n
Their stripes are an artists camouflage
\nAnd endowment virtually
\nAnd true love for their offspring
\nSuch an intensity
\nOf feeling for their cubs of course
\nTheir vision and their soul
\nTheir tenderness their aggressiveness
\nTheir agility all there
\nInordinately graceful
\nAs emphatically they share<\/p>\n
Their authority their kills
\nTheir honour we can feel
\nListen to their growling grasping
\nGrating at each meal
\nThe wild ones are so wild in fact
\nAn inseparability the cubs
\nHave such cohesion despite their liberty
\nTheir eyes a flash of burning gold
\nAnd faces of regal worth
\nIndia this great country
\nOffers up its earth<\/p>\n
The heat the rains the vastness
\nThe monsoon throws so much
\nWater from the sky upon the park
\nIts as if to touch ones face
\nWhen standing in this onslaught
\nNothing could exist
\nBut the Tigers are out in all weathers
\nAnd seemingly resist<\/p>\n
The flash floods and the driving rain
\nThe massively dancing trees
\nThat sweep across the raging skies
\nTheir timelessness, the ease
\nTo withstand the angry thundery hail
\nThat tears into the earth
\nAnd bounces off the water
\nLike something giving birth<\/p>\n
How wild souls take this hammering
\nAnd bounce back I don’t know
\nTheir perilous journey through their lives
\nAs the family grow
\nTheir endurance is fantastic
\nSo durable and strong
\nThey do not need the poachers
\nTo add to this violent throng<\/p>\n
