Wild animals
\nIn Circus
\nSo topical of course
\nAn Elephant chained in a cage
\nA Tiger feel their force of Nature
\nFeel their boredom
\nThe frustration of it all
\nAnd all that transportation
\nUp and down the ramps
\nAnd we fall!<\/p>\n
We slip
\nAnd feel the
\nA bull hook
\nIts what Circus has become
\nIt works with time
\nWe are expected to climb
\nWe are arthritc
\nAnd exhausted
\nNo exercise
\nNo play
\nNo wild food
\nLack of sunshine
\nAnd truthfully its no way<\/p>\n
Such a huge price this captivity
\nAnd getting to know the job
\nWe all have lost our freedom
\nAnd Failing to hear us sob
\nThe vagaries of circus
\nSuffering on the road
\nThe dietary frustrations
\nAnd such a heavy load<\/p>\n
Having to perform
\nIn an alien place
\nIts dark its cold its stress
\nLife is at a pace
\nOut of tune with our psyche
\nWith our being, the disgrace
\nWe cannot ever get use to it
\nAll along the way
\nIts noisy
\nIts damp
\nAnd a long greasy ramp
\nCan make an Elephant pay
\nkeeping them in a circus<\/p>\n
Really I am torn
\nBetween a rock and a hard place
\nIts not where we were born
\nWe suffer we really suffer
\nFor us its no brand new dawn<\/p>\n
If we could only beg you
\nWe would, we really would
\nIts close now to purgatory
\nReally if we could
\nWe would show you with such vigour
\nWith such passion why we feel
\nCircus life can never be a place
\nWhere we reveal<\/p>\n
Anything but boredom
\nFrom depression and from pain
\nOur Eternity is apparently
\nBeing closer to insane
\nEverything you dwell on
\nIs negativity
\nI beg you please exclude us
\nFrom what is depravity<\/p>\n
The pressure on our bodies
\nThe frantic state of mind
\nWhat is expected of us
\nAnd is therefore underlined
\nIs we must strive to follow
\nIn each others footsteps here
\nAnd trumpet when we are told to
\nAnd thats made very clear<\/p>\n
Its cruel we are bloodied often
\nOur feet cut up and raw
\nWith no fresh food to speak of
\nWe contend with natural law
\nIts not nutrition its sedition
\nIts such torture to go on
\nAll the fun of the circus
\nI wish it all was gone.<\/p>\n
And you three you could do it
\nAll you have to say
\nIs no to us wild animals
\nIn circus, and that day<\/p>\n
You would feel the mass epiphany
\nAs paradise became
\nA feature of our existence
\nYes dear sirs the same
\nThis all may feel just juvenile
\nBut let me say to you
\nMany of us are old in the tooth
\nAnd expecting us to do<\/p>\n
What circus wants
\nIs crazy
\nIts terribly unfair
\nSometimes I cant raise my back legs
\nAny bloody where
\nLet alone climb on a stool
\nAnd balance its not on
\nYou have to find it in your hearts
\nTo let us rest upon
\nSome soft hay in a sanctuary
\nJust anywhere but here
\nFrom Travelling daily from town to town
\nAnd living in such
\nFear<\/p>\n
