Existing as we do
\nBeside the human species, who
\nCan be very cruel to us
\nBut also very kind
\nWe have to hope
\nWho ever chooses us
\nTo join their family
\nIs one of the sweet loving types

A warm house

\nA chance to be a friend
\nTo spread our love to humans

Thats a dogs life actually
\nTo live really to please
\nTo romp and play
\nAround each day
\nWith the ultimate of ease
\nNot be distanced from them
\nChained up in a kennel all day
\nA bone thrown at us now and then
\nA gruff word or two
\n“Come on catch the burglars
\nThats why we got you”
\nLeft to swelter in the sun
\nOr freeze when winter blows
\nLeft unloved for all our lives
\nTo be friended by the crows<\/p>\n
Who come and share whatever care
\nAnd then they fly away
\nThey have the spirit they have the power
\nAnd the common sense to say
\nIts sad that you are so unloved
\nAnd uncared for Mr Dog
\nThat you wither with emotion
\nIn what is a frozen bog
\nYour water is a bowl of ice
\nYour kennel stark and raw<\/p>\n
To be a human who has no thoughts of love
\nAnd does ignore
\nYour lively canine spirit
\nWe crows are very sure
\nThe Kennel house you live in
\nIs a human trait gone wrong
\nThey are all now passed their sell by date
\nAn on true earth don’t belong<\/p>\n
So if you know of a dog around
\nWho is chained up and alone
\nLove is not about being gruff
\nOr chucking them a bone
\nIts all about inclusion
\nGiving them a share
\nLoving them for ever
