\nProvides those with insight
\nThe practicality of survival
\nIt does not come as a right<\/p>\n
It will be earned
\nThough this will be
\nA task master for all
\nThe will and the intention
\nAnd the desire to fulfil<\/p>\n
The earnestness and the eagerness
\nThe ardour of the chase
\nThe staying power
\nHour after hour
\nThe undiscouraged pace<\/p>\n
What is spontaneity
\nMakeshift and unrehearsed
\nLife is about learning
\nThe evil and the cursed
\nAll of it is relevant
\nWhen the sod be near
\nWhen there is little cover
\nAnd really heaps of fear<\/p>\n
It takes us all to greater heights
\nIn pursuit of love and care
\nIts ultimatum promises
\nA profit all may share
\nCollectively a blessing
\nFor those who live and play
\nOut there with an open sky
\nExposed both night and day<\/p>\n
There can be insufficiency
\nAnd meagre rations will
\nCause much stress on the family
\nAnd stresses then may spill
\nInto ones economy
\nAnd thus we have to be
\nUp for it and ready
\nWith adaptability<\/p>\n
Working on and with the earth
\nTo revive and to restore
\nTo learn to be self sufficient
\nTo give back and explore
\nAll the possibilities
\nTo replant and reclaim
\nAnd of course self preservation
\nA custodian by name<\/p>\n
Adversity brings lots of thought
\nAnd contemplation streams
\nSeasoned well and weathered
\nA preliminary to dreams
\nIndustrious and studious
\nAnd persevering too
\nAnd making vacant moments
\nTo think perchance to do<\/p>\n
To lead to feel the path to take
\nNot to point but just to be
\nAble and proficient
\nWithout naivete
\nAlways there are stumbling blocks
\nTeething troubles do
\nLeap up in your face a bit
\nBut you must remain true<\/p>\n
Seek some symbiosis some collaboration
\nAnd
\nFoster cooperation
\nFor when working the land
\nThe common cause is essential
\nTo hang together well
\nFinds the seer can mull it over
\nAnd often then can sell<\/p>\n
The ideas so much later
\nThe philosophy of the now
\nThe procurement of the spirit
\nThe recovery of how
\nThe affection and the friendship
\nBolsters the true thought
\nTo be sentient and all embracing
\nAnd never overwrought<\/p>\n
Listen up the indigenous
\nExperience it all
\nIn their face the true blown pace
\nThe overpowering call
\nThe enraptured state and the suffering
\nThe tedium the toil
\nThe enchantment that is freedom
\nBound tightly in a coil<\/p>\n
Of experience and knowledge
\nOf hopelessness and fear
\nOf courage and self reliance
\nOf undauntedness and cheer
\nEach gasp of admiration
\nThe drama of it all
\nAnd The intimacy of knowing
