To know what scalding feels like
\nWhen humans are aware
\nA pot of boiling water
\nThrown over you
\nSuch despair
\nSuch shock and lamentation
\nThose wet eyed plaintive cries
\nThat feeling of dejection
\nAnd joylessness and surprise<\/p>\n
And you are just a baby
\nAs innocent as you can be
\nAlright you gnawed a cell phone
\nNo bone around to see
\nYou chewed it but it still worked
\nThe contract wasn’t lost
\nAnd it all ended in purgatory
\nIt certainly did cost<\/p>\n
You took it all that burning
\nThe pain not felt before
\nA pain you wouldn’t want again
\nIt ripped into your core
\nThe wrath of that sick human
\nYou took it fair and square
\nEven the pot had hit you
\nAnd made your body sore<\/p>\n
You remember really cooking
\nIn your own soup for a while
\nAnd his raging at you shouting at you
\nHe just did defile
\nReally all of your being
\nAnd till that moment you felt joy
\nBut his anger and the fervour
\nSadly he did employ<\/p>\n
You remember slinking off
\nUnder the table for a while
\nPanting with the shock of it
\nThat remorse you felt was vile
\nWounded heavy laden with guilt
\nFor what you had done
\nThen he picked you up
\nAnd through you out of the window
\nJust to stun
\nYour spirit to eliminate you
\nKill you if he could
\nFlying through the air you were
\nIt certainly didn’t feel good<\/p>\n
Crashing down upon the ground
\nMore pain more agony
\nAnd then being found
\nAnd suffering the care
\nAnd adversity
\nThe skin was burned and very raw
\nThe hair fell off in bits
\nHealing would take ages
\nAnd you inclined to fits<\/p>\n
Of depression and of so much pain
\nThe tedium of it all
\nBut you had love expressed at large
\nFor the burning and the fall
\nPeople did feel deeply
\nUnctuously awaiting
\nYour ability to walk
\nThe tingling and grating
\nGot better very gradually
\nAnd you were once again
\nReady to be happy
\nAnd walk out in the rain<\/p>\n
You felt good old tuffy
\nYou knew you could be
\nHappy in the park again
\nEven feeling free
\nPretending you were happy
\nPretending you had joy
\nEverybody loved you
