It was thought that Chimpanzee’s
\nWere not keen on water
\nTheir nature most excitable
\nAlthough so much like us
\nIn Senegal they have found
\nAmongst the trees
\nA group in playful mood
\nDeep in the water
\nSwinging from a tree but
\nLoving it
\nDiscovering the talent
\nThat did fit<\/p>\n
This was quite a change
\nFrom what was thought of them
\nTheir use of tools
\nJane Goodall had observed
\nClearly they also had developed emotions
\nWere very impulsive
\nAn unnerved
\nRivalry was paramount
\nFor certain
\nClearly they have culture.
\nTo be sure
\nAnd a great intelligence for numbers
\nCan interpret good from bad
\nAnd justice more<\/p>\n
They can understand the choice
\nOf teamwork
\nThey grieve and will protect
\nEach other too
\nHelping humans tasking
\nReally for the asking
\nAnd can collaborate
\nThat they can do<\/p>\n
Five times as strong as humans
\nThey are dangerous
\nWhat they think about
\nOne surely knows
\nMore and more they use tools
\nAnd use logic
\nRational powers
\nAnd clearly pose<\/p>\n
Some questions for the human
\nAs to why
\nthey still lag behind us
\nWith so few differences really
\nThey cooperate and hunt
\nAnd by and by
\nPerhaps they will catch up
\nGenetically
\nTheir matriarchal substance
\nIs a strong bond we can see
\nMother and baby clearly
