Wandering the streets of Moscow
\nThis hound
\nWas plucked from the cold
\nWhere she was found
\nIn 1957 launched into the sky
\nEveryone knew this poor soul she
\nWould die<\/p>\n
Except her, fixed into this
\nTiny cramped place
\nAnd shot into the sky
\nAt a terrible pace
\nAlone once again
\nImagine her pain
\nImagine her thoughts
\nAs life would soon drain<\/p>\n
All the technology
\nIt made no sense
\nHoisted her high
\nBut so many were dense
\nAs the clouds she was flying through
\nFor her sacrifice
\nWas really for nothing
\nThose who did entice<\/p>\n
Her into that capsule
\nWith kisses and smiles
\nKnowing she was going thousands
\nOf miles
\nShe would die in that
\nCapsule frustrated as hell
\nShe couldn’t escape
\nThat fact we knew well<\/p>\n
I feel for her sweet heart
\ni feel for her soul
\nTempted to scream
\nAt the terrible role
\nWe placed this young baby
\nWe openly knew
\nShe was going to die
\nIn a hot house of stew<\/p>\n
Overheating and stress
\nShe exploded with it
\nJust pulled apart
\nBy all of our shit
\nWe are the violent ones
\nExperimentation
\nOn these dear animals

\nAnd we just abuse
\nSweet caring Laika
\nCouldn’t refuse
\nTo journey
\nThe kiss
\nShe was sent on her way

The trainers though
\nThey felt the pain in her eyes
\nWhen they kissed her and loved her
\nAnd told her the lies
\nStrapped her so tightly
\nAnd bade her farewell
\nKnowing they sent a sweet angel

Human beings disgust me
\nHer name was Laika meaning little curly haired one
\nShe only had 10 days worth of food and water
\nBut lasted very little time before being pulled apart by the extraordinary forces
\nThey say the reason why they chose a female
\nWas because she didn’t have to lift her leg to urinate
