A victim of human destructive ability
\nAn old bear half blind and alone
\nLiving deep in the forest
\nA florida Forest
\nHarvested that was the tone<\/p>\n
Shot to death sporting some vintage
\nHandicapped sadly was he
\nConsidered superfluous by human kind
\nA complete waste of time actually<\/p>\n
But he was a stalwart supporter
\nOf the forests and all that was there
\nHe kept well away from the beings on two legs
\nThey tended to bring more despair<\/p>\n
He was strong still he limped
\nBut he still got about
\nMore slowly of course but he could
\nFind berries and buds he could manage
\nHis diet
\nAnd life for him it had been good<\/p>\n
He knew that some young bears
\nHad gone into the towns
\nAnd raided the bins it was known
\nBut he kept himself to himself
\nHe was old
\nThough that sort of knowledge had grown<\/p>\n
Age brings its own sense of wisdom
\nAs the gait slows the heart carries on
\nThe senses are heightened
\nThe grey matter too
\nWhere the instinctive patter
\nIs gone<\/p>\n
The new world creates a new picture
\nAnd this old soul followed its course
\nTill a hunter man came with such arrogance thought
\nAnd wanted of course just to force<\/p>\n
His way on the old bear completely
\nShot him to death with one click
\nThe youth of today can never hold sway
\nFor the digital mobsters are thick<\/p>\n
The grandfather bear
\nLay in his lair
\nResting his heart and his soul
\nFlorida hunt decided their punt
\nWas worthy to establish control<\/p>\n
Hundreds of wild souls were slaughtered
\nTriggers were pulled everywhere
\nHundreds of babies left dying
\nThe forest is one of despair<\/p>\n
Florida your rewards coming
\nAs tourists and others decide
\nNot to come visit but to boycott your place
\nYour forests and your countryside<\/p>\n
Exchanging currency
\nExchanging trade
\nWith monsters who go
\nBy themselves to parade
\nDead bears around is not seen to be
\nAny place we wish to go actually<\/p>\n
