To be able, to read a mind
\nthere has to be a mind to read
\nThose who are sentient enough
\nand can understand and feed
\ninto what the public want
\nand really how they tick
\nkilling little babies
\nmakes everybody sick<\/p>\n
The seals so many out there
\nand how they came to be
\nA sanctuary,it is a place of calmness
\nNear the sea
\nWhere we see the wild folk’s wildness
\nTourists get the tour
\nand begin to understand
\n really a lot more<\/p>\n
and wouldn’t they be upset
\nto know that very soon
\nThe babies that they just observed
\nwould be beaten by some loon
\nwe were here to rest and look around
\nexpectations high
\nbut the truth was
\nsadly this was just a whole lot
\nworse
\nFor the babies every season
\nas their suckling
\nare beaten to a pulp
\nwhich seems perverse<\/p>\n
nobody would expect that
\nof a sanctuary
\nBut Namibia has its sights
\non other things
\nEach pelt provides some revenue
\nand money is the key
\non the one hand
\na creature competing
\nwith fishermen who be
\ncomplaining that their catch is down
\nall the while these creatures feed
\nand so the Namibian Government
\nthinks, some just have to bleed
\na bit who cares, that’s reality
\ntheir competitors after all
\ncompeting in the ocean
\nfor shared fish
\nwhich does gall<\/p>\n
a sadness permeates
\nthe whole agenda
\na tragedy created
\nfrom the crowd
\nthe weather has been very cold
\nand windy and thunderstorms
\nhave hung down like a shroud<\/p>\n
The shed men live their miserable existence
\nwet, covered in the blood and snot and pain
\nthey’d been paid a measly sum and told
\nto kill them all
\nexactly where they sat
\nto bash their brain
\nand 80 or so thousand
\nsouls are slaughtered
\nin a peaceful cove
\na Sanctuary
\nit really is a lie
\nof such proportions
\nthat all these
\ntiny babies tragically<\/p>\n
The seals are clearly really
\ngoing through it
\ntheir numbers being depleted
\nby the day
\nsoon there won’t be any seals
\nto speak of
\nand then I bet the Namibians
\nwill say
\nthey upped and left
\nand we now are the victims
\nwe have lost our bounty
\nand the goals
\nBut th0se of us who know
\nwhat’s really happened
\nmurdered by the gangs
\nof half cut trolls<\/p>\n
mercenary types
\nwho tear and rip them
\nheartlessly
\nthey do it and
\nThey grunt and sniff all day
\ntheir nails so broken and bloodied
\nfrom the dead souls
\nwho let the Turk just steal
\ntheir life away
\nClearly there are those
\nwho would now film us
\nclearly there are some
\nwho come and cry
\nclearly there are some
\nwho try to stop us
\nbut clearly we are here
\nand will defy
\ngun toting armed assassins
\nthey now guard us
\nwe thrash and bash and stash
\nthe bodies red
\ntheir pelts torn off their body
\nthey display their twisted sinews
\nthe sea birds cough and splutter
\nand are led
\nswallowing the carcasses
\nand choking
\nfighting for the remnants
\nthat remain
\ndropping bits of broken seal
\nback down on the sandy shore
\nand flying off
\nand coming back again<\/p>\n
like rats with wings
\nthese bloody awful vermin
\nvomit from their back ends
\nspluttering so
\nblood and snot and bones
\nwhere once a baby was
\nthe skeleton coast
\nis aptly named
\nyou know<\/p>\n
