Long distance travel
\nTrucking miles
\nDays and days of Hell
\nCrushed on top of one another
\nExactly where you fell
\nClambering around the hold
\nTreading on you, you
\nGet trampled bruised and broken
\nAnd die some of them do<\/p>\n
There is no fresh air to speak of
\nThe heat begins to rise
\nAnimals are collapsing right
\nBefore your eyes
\nDying of exhaustion, from the heat
\nAnd all of this
\nNo food no water filthy bedding
\nFar removed from bliss<\/p>\n
Standing in their own shit
\nAs thirsty as can be
\nClearly nobody cares for them
\nOut there on the sea
\nThe motion of the stormy waves
\nAnd the sickness coming on
\nStill days and days of this
\nAnd already many gone<\/p>\n
The farmers who had raised them
\nWere selfish through and through
\nContracts signed shipments made
\nThey can fuck off too
\nExhausted by this experience
\nAnd saddened by it all
\nStanding in each others urine
\nSplashing up the wall<\/p>\n
There never was compassion
\nNot a single dime
\nOf thought goes into shipments
\nIn one great hold of slime
\nThey slip and slide and bruise
\nEach other
\nThat is what they do
\nA far cry from those sun drenched fields
\nWhere at least they could be true<\/p>\n
On food and yes on water
\nBut here aboard this ship
\nNobody was actively helping
\nThis long trip
\nWas killing it was awful it was frightening
\nTo see
\nAnd on arrival they could expect
\nThe death penalty<\/p>\n
Fresh meat for their table
\nAdversity in their veins
\nSuffering so very much
\nAll the stress and strains
\nOf shipments many many miles
\nAcross a stormy sea
\nThrown about and left for dead
\nThats now where they be<\/p>\n
Arrival hot and sticky
\nLots of white dry sand
\nNoises in the local streets
\nThey could’t understand
\nTrucks were parked and ready
\nCars were parked there too
\nManhandled into waiting boots
