We live up in the canopy
\nTo fly is our embrace
\nThrough the viridescent light
\nUp there we stay the pace
\nMarried to forever
\nOn our creeper swings
\nThrough the emerald forest
\nThat paradise just brings<\/p>\n
The loggers came with treachery
\nTheir scything saws and tools
\nHacking through the precious parts
\nThe great work horse of fools
\nDown the trees are tumbling
\nCrashing one and all
\nAnd down we fall remarkably
\nLike an all important wall<\/p>\n
All manner of bright colours
\nA kaleidoscope of light
\nThe cerulean blueness
\nOf butterflies in flight
\nThe floridness of cyclamen
\nBursting to the sky
\nEach rusty glowing mantle
\nThat wanders down from high<\/p>\n
We Orangutans are chiefly
\nUp there just as high
\nWhere all the pigments in the spectrum
\nLive their lives and die
\nOur great big eyes like islands
\nIn a sea of night do stare
\nOut into oblivion
\nThat all the families share<\/p>\n
The loggers are a menace
\nThey do the corporate thing
\nThey rupture and they just destroy
\nAnd severally bring
\nSo much down upon us
\nThe wish for Palm is great
\nThey will destroy this planet
\nWe have only to wait<\/p>\n
Fires rage every which way
\nSmoke the blast of cloud
\nThe absurdity of concealment
\nOf course they all stand proud
\nAs everywhere is blackened
\nThe miss teachings of those who
\nWere ignorant of wonderment
\nAnd all that it could do<\/p>\n
We fall we clamber downwards
\nOur hair singed to a crisp
\nWe learn the ways of man un kind
\nThe great will o the wisp
\nThere then not there nit there
\nThen there with their JCB’s
\nTearing up the forests
\nTill we are on our knees<\/p>\n
Stuck in some wheelbarrow
\nThe victims of the blaze
\nSome had been pets earlier
\nJust a passing phases
\nOthers when our mothers died
\nOr were injured by those men
\nWe were lost we felt for sure
\nStolen from our den<\/p>\n
Now we are in a sanctuary
\nWheeled about the gain
\nThe women of the local village
\nHelp us we refrain
\nFrom leaving for they feed us
\nAnd bring us back to health
\nWe feel somewhat fortunate
\nTo share in their great wealth<\/p>\n
Palm oil those plantations
\nAre dark such shadow cast
\nAn evil kind of light force
\nReminds me of the past
\nRats and snakes do creep and crawl
\nThe eagle to can fly
\nThis is not the place to be
