I was feeding alone in Tsavo
\nNot far from the Mzima Springs
\nMinding my own business
\nIn a good light
\nWith the warmth that the good

The sky was as blue as an ocean
\nA light breeze that just about cooled
\nI wasn’t aware there were people there
\nBut realised it as I hauled

It was terribly painful

I fell down concerned about
\nJust how I felt
\nThey were after my tusks

I was hot I was cold
\nI shivered a lot
\nI wanted to run
\nBut was transfixed on this spot

Then I heard in the sky
\nOverhead a great bird
\nThose kind of twirly things

I blacked out completely
\nAnd when I came around
\nMy leg was much better
\nThats what I found
\nThey had removed the arrow

But the veterinaries
\nWere up to the task

\nWhen they did ask
\nI was then pumped with the antibiotic
\nIt gave me a headache
\nAnd a strong case of colic
\nBut soon I recovered
\nFrom I may have been killed

\nFor More blood might have spilled<\/p>\n
