A glimpse of what is happening
\nIn plain sight some can see
\nBut others I am sad to say
\nThe great majority
\nLook at this and cannot really see
\nWhat the hell we are on about
\nWhich is why we be<\/p>\n
Really so frustrated at the insentience
\nAbout
\nThen numbness and the stupor
\nIt really is a rout
\nThe Orca’s and the Dolphins
\nAnd those animals that we
\nUse for entertainment
\nWhy does this have to be<\/p>\n
Perhaps the impassivity
\nThe imperception here
\nAnd the general unconsciousness
\nFuelled no doubt by fear
\nUnmoved unstirred and half hearted
\nSluggish and supine
\nSo many have the eyes to see
\nBut seem to miss the sign<\/p>\n
They have this kind of blankness
\nUnastonished they have become
\nThey walk passed as we protest
\nTheir faces more than glum
\nWe shout out for freedom
\nFor the animals we love
\nAnd they complain about the noise
\nAnd actually do shove<\/p>\n
Us physically, out of the way
\nNo matter what we do
\nAnd so this video says it all
\nIt takes the point of view
\nThat frustration fills so many
\nThe unbelief around
\nThere is a real insanity
\nAnd an idiocy I have found<\/p>\n
We persecute so many
\nWith our loony bin of lies
\nDriven mad by wacky loony
\nPotty dotty eyes
\nThey look at us as if we are mad
\nProtesting in the street
\nWhy don’t we get a proper job
\nAnd become the new elite<\/p>\n
We are the new unhinged brigade
\nBecause we show we care
\nWe are prepared to give our time
\nJust to all get there
\nPenned in by their fences
\nWe shout to kingdom come
\nFighting for the animals
\nEveryone a chum<\/p>\n
I am so disappointed
\nWe are thwarted at every stage
\nAnd could go away crestfallen
\nAnd sort of in a rage
\nBaffled by the sadness
\nLet down by the mood
\nObstructed by the apathy
\nShackled by the crude<\/p>\n
So dressing up as Orca’s
\nAnd dolphins what we do
\nIs show it like it happens
\nPointing yea at you
\nAnd you and you if you are
\nOne of the sleeping mass
\nEmbarrassed by our outpouring
\nThat you believe is crass<\/p>\n
We are startling you with reality
\nLetting you see how we
\nSee the wild shackled in our chains
\nTheir adversity
\nIs commonplace around the world
\nIn every walk of life
\nFrom the Elephants to the Dolphins
\nWe share with you some strife<\/p>\n
We step upon your body
\nAs you soak up the sun
\nWe come around and photograph
\nYou when your day is done
\nWe make it clear how sad we are
\nTo be captured all the time
\nAnd locked away in cages
\nAnd be written up in rhyme<\/p>\n
We are part of a wild goose chase
\nOr so it appears to some
\nRepulsed by all and sundry
\nUnder the rich man’s thumb
\nBull hooked and defeated
\nThrown in some blue tank
\nDriven into Taiji cove
\nWhere everything is rank
\nHung up on some gantry
\nAnd milked until we are dry
\nPressed into gestation crates
\nUntil we have to die<\/p>\n
Such misery is apparent
\nFor all the earthling friends
\nTheir wretchedness is our doing
\nThe message that it sends
\nThe utter humiliation
\nIts a plague upon this earth
\nTheir misfortune that the masses
\nCannot feel their worth<\/p>\n
Not just to be a target
\nNot a skin to bloody wear
\nNot a dog or cat to be eaten
\nAnd treated till despair
\nSupposedly makes more tender flesh
\nThe horns are deemed to be
\nGood for your libido
\nThats why you slaughter me<\/p>\n
We have reached a calamitous state
\nAnd as activists we do
\nTry everything that we can think of
\nComedy even too
\nMany of us women struggling along
\nBut prepared to share our leisure
\nBy showing some how wrong
\nThey are ignoring issues
\nAnd letting the animals die
\nAnd being part of their problem
\nWhich is really why<\/p>\n
I write poems daily
\nAnd send them everywhere
\nLike seeds some fall on concrete paths
\nUnseeing they lay there
\nOthers though are seen by people
\nAnd change peoples minds
\nWe all have ways of helping
\nPutting up the signs<\/p>\n
The animals are helpless
\nThey need us so they do
\nThey are not for entertainment
\nOr containment in a zoo
\nThey were born as we their freedom
\nIs as much to do with how
\nWe treat ourselves as humans
