The great Mothers Magic
\nIs boundless
\nFrom the huge barren plains
\nAll we see
\nIs a scuttle of insects
\nOver the dust
\nInhospitable obstinacy<\/p>\n
Spring though is around the corner
\nIf it rains what you will see
\nIs the great wand spread over
\nThe desert and rain drops that just
\nSeem to be<\/p>\n
The bringers of dreams and real magic
\nAs out of the arid parched soil
\nFlowers start to burst through and stand in the sun
\nThis is the start of their toil<\/p>\n
Upwards and outwards each beautiful petal
\nForms and joins up with each bloom
\nAll sorts of colours a rainbow of gifts
\nEdge up together for room<\/p>\n
This whole arid plain is becoming
\nA great secret blanket of flowers
\nThis has to be a true miracle here
\nIt covers the ground in just hours<\/p>\n
From the Atlantic Ocean west through the dunes
\nAnd inland for about 80 miles
\nThis amazing carpet of perfume and colour
\nReally it ticks all the dials<\/p>\n
An extravaganza of blossom of nectar
\nOf pollen galore
\nAll sorts of insects come hither to taste
\nNothing on earth could ignore<\/p>\n
This is a one off of nature
\nIts magic too much for ones eyes
\nA carpet of scent thats some how been lent
\nAnd really the magic defies<\/p>\n
Ostrich chicks enter the arena
\nAnd nibble the blossoms they find
\nAll sorts of flowers with all sorts of powers
\nAnd all of them seemed to unwind<\/p>\n
Out of the sky just came water
\nThe rain brought them upwards and we
\nWitnessed the absolute wonder
\nThat everyone there could now see<\/p>\n
Spring didn’t last not a long time
\nAnd all of these flowers were soon gone
\nJust masses of seeds evidence of deeds
\nLying and drying upon<\/p>\n
The desert again it was arid
\nSummer was well on the way
\n40 degrees now and rising
\nThe sun really high now would pay<\/p>\n
The Meer cats are down in the shadows
\nA lizard or two ball like there
\nThe flowers were just all now a memory
