They’re bloody cowards
\ntheir rifles cocked
\nkneeling on the deck
\ntaking pot shots at wild seals
\nthe bullet breaks its neck
\nblood spurts every which way
\nclearly, the poor thing dead
\nfodder for the sea gulls
\nand the ships dog gets well fed
\nSeal Hunting on the ice floes
\nthere’s no chance for the seal
\nits murder in the first degree
\nwith all the hunters zeal
\nso paramount, I mean to say
\nthey do not get a chance
\nits close range killing
\npull the trigger
\nwatch the baby dance
\nits hard to face the wild winds
\nand somehow try to claim
\na little bit of sanity
\nfor the hunters have their game
\nI do feel very stressed for them
\nThey do nobody harm
\nand when approached their gentle
\ntheir caring and their calm
\nI have to say men make me sick
\ntoting rifles and feeling slick
\nits not as if they need to eat
\nbut they take the seal and they even cheat
\nsteal its precious life they do
\nwhich mean’t as much as life does do
\nto all of us for less than it takes
