The absurdity of hunting
\nThe senselessness of it
\nIts so completely futile
\nIt is from where I sit
\nFeel his amazing presence
\nHear his thundering feet
\nCrushing trees like matchsticks
\nOne of the elite<\/p>\n
Such an anti climax
\nTo see a great soul there
\nHammered by two bullets
\nAnd left in dark despair
\nAnd what crime was he into
\nLiving where he was born
\nSleeping in the forest
\nUntil our dread and scorn<\/p>\n
An intelligent individual
\nWho will be sorely missed
\nAnd why was he stalked and murdered
\nA statistic on some list
\nA forager of distinction
\nYou could feel their affinity
\nBoth lie down to dream a while
\nThe society of the free<\/p>\n
Enter man the hunter
\nWith his rifle full of steel
\nHis heart is full of maggots
\nAnd he just cannot feel
\nThe heartbeat of the elephant
\nThe wisdom of the breed
\nThe bond these elephants clearly had
\nAnd where not it would lead<\/p>\n
Egged on by his so called friends
\nHe lifts his rifle high
\nPoints it at this amazing soul
\nAnd fires twice which is why
\nThe great beast falls in agony
\nFelled by the will of those
\nWho care nothing for the animals
\nAs this vile action shows<\/p>\n
And its all about the ivory
\nIts money in a bank
\nNothing about the elephant
\nWhich I find really rank
\nThese awe inspiring creatures
\nIconic through and through
\nWhy is it they can just be killed
\nAnd anyone can do<\/p>\n
This provided they have
\nThe paperwork all signed
\nThen the authorities look away
\nAs so many lose their their mind
\nIt goes against all reason
\nTo hoot and seemingly
\nImagine you had forethought
\nBut really inanity<\/p>\n
It was your misjudgement
\nHandicapped by greed
\nObsessed with killing animals
\nWanting to succeed
\nFor the long term it is pointlessness
\nIts fatuous and wrong
\nNo sage would ever do this
\nYou do not belong<\/p>\n
In Africa or anywhere
\nThese great beasts are now rare
\nEverything about them
\nWe all need to share
\nThe psychopathy of censure
\nAlienates us all
\nExchange your rifle for a camera
\nSeeing them all fall<\/p>\n
To the hunters bullet
\nIs complete insanity
\nAnd watching this here video
\nHonestly I see
\nA nightmare that won’t go away
\nFor it will follow me
\nThrough my life forever
\nAnd into infinity<\/p>\n
Waking up a sleeping soul
\nWhere exhaustion cuts him down
\nThe improbity of that
\nReally going to town
\nOn a pair of friends in harmony
\nWho sleep at the same hour
