\nCrafted by those grey suits who
\nListened to the media
\nBut were not sure what to do
\nBrought in the breed specific
\nWhich is to say the least unfair
\nAnd lends itself to much abuse
\nBy humans who don’t care<\/p>\n
The canine tribe are many
\nAll shapes and sizes, they
\nHaven’t changed an awful lot
\nIts the public that should pay
\nMore attention to the problem
\nFor any dog can be
\nDangerous in the wrong hands
\nOpen your eyes and see<\/p>\n
What has duly happened
\nIs the animals that look
\nWhat is perceived to be dangerous
\nAnd really thats the hook
\nFor legislators points of interest
\nWhen actually we know
\nThat irresponsible owners
\nHave a long long way to go<\/p>\n
They make them look aggressive
\nThey call them aggressive names
\nFeeding tHem on raw meat and such
\nMake all sorts of claims
\nSome make them fight
\nIts what you do
\nWhen you have no idea
\nThe repercussions likely
\nAnd the public’s general fear<\/p>\n
What constitutes a dangerous dog
\nIs not a particular breed
\nThat is too simplistic
\nAnd of course is going to feed
\nInto the simple aggression
\nOf the owners round a bout
\nAnd due to their aggression
\nThe poor dogs left in doubt<\/p>\n
breed specific legislation
\nIs amazingly unfair
\nDogs are loyal behind the law
\nWe have to be aware
\nWho attempts to buy these dogs
\nFor kudos or for what
\nBloody great chains and leather
\nThese dogs just are not<\/p>\n
Fighting machines and macho gifts
\nThey are animals that will
\nBe loyal and kind and do
\nBlow your mind
\nBut your blood they will only spill
\nIf you take malice towards them
\nIf you abuse their trust
\nIf you treat them badly
\nAnd hurt them and fill them with disgust<\/p>\n
BSL is legislation that needs re writing fast
\nIt needs to address the owners
\nFor I for one am aghast
\nAt the numbers that reach rescue
\nWho are on the dangerous list
\nIts clear they are with aggressive owners
\nWho like to show a fist<\/p>\n
As this picture says we haven’t changed
\nWe are still of the canine clan
\nWe will respond to you if you are fond of us
\nSo why would you ban
\nAny dog can be dangerous
\nResponsibility and an attitude of caring
\nIs what we have to see<\/p>\n
In place not daft legislation
\nDrawn up by those
\nWho knew
\nVery little about the dogs
\nAnd really what they do
\nHow they got in the wrong hands
\nAnd became an aggressive tool
