A very unfortunate incident took place
\nIt seems to me
\nFrom reading through the mail’s report
\nAnd the case on line I see
\nThat a farm that houses a lot of horses
\nAnd dogs was found to be
\nNot looking after them adequately
\nWhich created this tragedy<\/p>\n
the RSPCA were called and a case
\nWas brought to bear
\nThis happened in Blackburn
\nAll the animals there
\nWere neglected that was awful
\nBut a number were thought to be ok
\nAnd handed over to be re homed
\nTo the RSPCA<\/p>\n
So they must have felt they had been saved
\nTheir ordeal was over, they
\nCouldn’t wait to get out of there
\nBut alas for them the stay
\nWas short lived it was decided
\nWith an influx in horses they
\nWould have to be put down
\nPut down anyway<\/p>\n
So who did they get to do this
\nThe horse whisperer he
\nThe healer and the reiki master
\nAnd slaughter man would be
\nThe ideal choice
\nAnd so 12 of the 14
\nWere shot through
\n6 went off to the pony club
\nThat just left the
\n2
\nThey were saved from slaughter
\nNew homes for the old
\nThe other twelve were beside themselves
\nAt the rainbow bridge I am told<\/p>\n
Its a very sad and tragic tale
\nThat demonstrates how we
\nCan set ourselves a task
\nBut sometimes it cannot be
\nAnd for whatever reason the horses in this case
\nThough clearly bright and alert and responsive
\nHad to die a pace<\/p>\n
And that was all about it
\ni just thought how they must
\nHave felt reprieved from the lingering death
\nTo be shot and get the goodbye breath
\nWhich on hearing does disgust
\nAnd there were enquiries
\nApparently but they
\nWere hampered by data protection
\nAnd in the end all pay<\/p>\n
This is one of those tragic tales
\nOf circumstantial woe
\nRaising their hopes and
\nAnd denying them life
\nThat is no way to go
\nTo be given an expectation
\nAnd watch it frittered away
\nMust have really got to them
\nThats all that I can say<\/p>\n
Animal earthlings really are our mentors
\nAnd in that role their position it can be
\nFraught with every danger ever in the book
\nThese horses for example happily
\nThey wandered onto trucks bound for the stables
\nAnd one of them leg broken in some fall
\nTaz was going to clearly get a bullet
\nSadly thats is now the general rule<\/p>\n
There may be an enquiry so i read today
\nAnd clearly something else went wrong and they
\nRealised it was best by far to kill them
\nThan go all out to save them anyway
\nIts just became a physical impossibility
\nToo many horses and not enough places so
\nThe inevitable it really had to happen
