For millions of years the turtles have known
\nCosta Rica’s the place that you can call your own
\nThe beach or refuge there has moist warm deep sand
\nAnd its safe to nest there that they understand
\nSo recently of course they all came to the beach
\nThese huge turtles exhausted they reach
\nUp in The spray as pregnant as hell
\nTo be greeted by hundreds of people as well
\nThe Nosara flood plain sadly was dry
\nSo tourists and others could happen by<\/p>\n
With their selfie sticks phones and children in tow
\nWaiting for the huge great big turtles to show
\nDragging themselves up the sandy incline
\nAgainst the great spray in a massive great line
\nTo be met by a wall of humans who felt
\nThey would take an advantage
\nSome stood there some knelt
\ndown waiting for them
\nAnd with no where to go
\nbut back to the sea
\nBack to the flow<\/p>\n
As tired as one can be
\nsome just stopped and fell
\nAnd were used by the children
\nto step on, so Hell!<\/p>\n
Some who never got there they just swam away
\nothers dug holes
\nAnd then tried to lay
\nBut the children walked over their nests and kicked sand
\nThese ignorant tourists they don’t understand
\nSo removed now from nature just digital fools
\nUsing their ipads breaking the rules
\nFrightening these turtles now suffering so
\nThat back in The water some sadly did go<\/p>\n
The two rangers and three policeman could not do a thing
\nParents a lot them more kids did bring
\nIt was a free for all disgusting to see
\nThe lack of respect and the discourtesy
\nUn worthy to be there their hostility
\nWas unprecedented their true sanity
\nLost in the arrogance which was to be
\nTheir lack of conscience and integrity<\/p>\n
Such degeneration right across the board
\nMany were parents and their reward
\nWas a selfie yes possibly
\nbut such a transgression
\nHad led to a miserable turtle procession
\nOne after another they slid back and swam
\nFor sure broken hearted cold water did slam<\/p>\n
Into their tired aching bodies for they
\nAre spent from the journey this was their way
\nOf protecting their own but the great human hordes
\nWere out in force brandishing their swords
\nWe have to feel regret for humans today
\nWho have lost touch with nature
\nAnd now theres no way
\nThe price for this ignorance this enormity
\nAnd this generation of turtle’s will be<\/p>\n
Scarcer and scarcer and may not return
\nWe pollute with our shit as some cannot discern
\nWhat is right what is wrong and why we shouldn’t be
