With their high powered rifles
\nThese skulking clowns
\nSeemed totally gratified
\nFor The ups and the downs
\nThese murdering blackguards
\nOut on the earth
\nFiring their rifles
\nFor all they were worth<\/p>\n
Which is very little
\nIf anything, they
\nThe scourge of humanity
\nFor they blew away
\nA wild beast who lived
\nWhere creation had put
\nIn nature the wilderness yes
\nEvery foot<\/p>\n
Of his life on the planet
\nWas wildness galore
\nTill these vile human beings
\nStarted their war
\nBlood pouring from him
\nSuch anxiety
\nThe threat to his life
\n“Holy cow”
\nWe can see<\/p>\n
Sucking in air
\nTaking their lead
\nHe goes into free fall
\nAnd now he is dead<\/p>\n
In the shivering wastes
\nIn the ice and the snow
\nThese trophy hunters they
\nKnew where to go<\/p>\n
A very safe distance
\nAway from the bear
\nWho probably didn’t even know
\nthey were there<\/p>\n
Freezing at night
\nThis very brave soul
\nWas shot, missed and shot again
\nThey in control<\/p>\n
Two dirty bastards
\nTheir unsavouriness
\nTerribly sickening
\nWe can but bless<\/p>\n
That bear for his efforts
\nIn trying to run
\nNot a hint of compassion
\nJust a bloody great gun<\/p>\n
Just a murdering spree
\nThe stridor of death
\nIt stuck with its hope
\nDrawing in breath<\/p>\n
Such darkness was obvious
\nSpreaders of doom
\nThey extinguished a life force
\nThat nature did groom<\/p>\n
This was its place
\nBut they came to kill
\nAnd despite its long trial
\nIts passion did spill<\/p>\n
Its blood stained the snow
\nAs it legged it away
\nTo be beaten by more shots
\nA thoughtless display<\/p>\n
Cruelty really
\nAnd evil intent
\nOf egregious torture
\nNothing well meant<\/p>\n
This bear was a big boy
\nWith a huge heart and soul
\nDestroyed by two weaklings
\nBoth out of control<\/p>\n
Without consideration
\nThey shot him to death
\nWatched as he faltered
\nAnd cried out for breath<\/p>\n
They shot him again
\nSo mindless were they
\nAnd only pure evil to pass off
\nAnd say<\/p>\n
Anyone watching this sickening scene
\nKnows those men need hunting
\nFor they haven’t been
\nSubjected to danger
\nSent from afar
\nAnd till they are party to it
\nThen they are<\/p>\n
Arrogant dark forces
\nAnd they should be
\nRun down and shot
\nFor their psychotic spree
\nBe made to feel the total unease
\nTo be wounded and downtrodden
\nWith damaged knees
\nBleeding and harrowed
\nAnd suffering so
\nFeel what the bear felt
\nAll of that woe<\/p>\n
Being distressed by it
\nSuffering so
\nThe gravity of it
\nHow it does grow
\nThe hideousness of it
\nAnd just that fright
\nThe realisation
\nOf now what was right
\nSuch consternation
\nSuch abject fear
\nLosing ones nerve
\nAs the bullets fall near<\/p>\n
You are haunted and dreading
\nThe end for it seems
\nDespite your endurance
\nDespite all those dreams
\nOf life in the moment
\nThat cowardice may be
\nThe one saving grace
\nAs you fall rapidly<\/p>\n
Rolling and dying
\nBlood leaking fast
\nGathering speed
\nTheir die is cast
\nThere is no going back
\nAs darkness prevails
\nAnd their eyes close for good
\nWith the wind in their sails<\/p>\n
They fly for a moment
\nLost to the world
\nContempt was the picture
\nIn which they were hurled<\/p>\n
If trophy hunters
\nCould go through this scene
\nCould imagine the agony
\nAnd could have been
\nAble to sense it
\nAnd feel it and be
\nPart of it
\nThen just, just possibly
\nIt might make them think
\nAnd realise they
\nCould do much kinder
\nthings
