We had been listing badly
\nFor about a half an hour
\nWhen all of us were dumped
\nInto the sea
\nIt was dark and cold
\nThe young and old around us
\nScreaming sinking drowning<\/p>\n
In the water paddling like crazy
\nI have a baby in my arms, and she
\nIs my first born my first sweet creation
\nAnd now I ask what is to become of me
\nOur heads are both well just above the water
\nThe salt has made my lips feel very sore
\nI am hoping we make landfall
\nOr someone comes to find us
\nAnd I will not give up hope

\nEverywhere is mayhem it isn’t safe to be

\nFloating its so peaceful

\nSome sank fast I was aghast

But I was forced to struggle
\nKeep my baby well
\nThinking of her all alone
\nIn a watery hell
\nWhat would she be thinking
\nIn this great dark sphere
\nI just couldn’t forgive myself
\nSo eaten up with fear<\/p>\n
I kept on kicking kept afloat
\nHoping soon another boat
\nMight come along and we would be
\nSaved thats how I want to be
\nThe knock I got has meant that I
\nHave a very bruised left eye
\nBut still my strength is holding out
\nAnd actually I am in no doubt<\/p>\n
