Its not the world
\nIts the governments of the world
\nIts those who rule
\nPeople are just fodder
\nNo different from the mule
\nSent into the mountains
\nTo carry heavy loads
\nOr expected to work until it drops
\nOn those rocky roads<\/p>\n
People or the faceless hordes
\nAre just that in their eyes
\nIn the wrong place at the wrong time
\nGovernments surmise
\nSo desperate some of them
\nThey just have to escape
\nThe factions in the country
\nThat would otherwise just re shape<\/p>\n
The serpents and the chaos
\nAnd the people in the pipe
\nAnd all that criminality
\nReady to just swipe
\nThe families are all out there
\nGiven in to share
\nBut of course what was delivered
\nWas absolute despair<\/p>\n
The tide turned it was rapid
\nIt took many by surprise
\nThese boats were not sea worthy
\nThere in enabling their demise
\nShocking to the cameras
\nShocking in the way
\nBodies of children are buffeted
\nIn the salty spray<\/p>\n
Imagine those last moments
\nLost souls seeking, they
\nFelt the overwhelming forces
\nCarry them away
\nTheir screams lost on the night sky
\nTheir bodies broken fast
\nThere but for fortune you or I
\nAlas their die was cast<\/p>\n
People who really were they
\nHopeful of a new life
\nBut caught up in the maelstrom
\nThey took aboard the strife<\/p>\n
On boats
\nOn trucks
\nOn foot they ran
\nTheir limbs torn from them they
\nHad nothing they were broken
\nLiving for a day<\/p>\n
What was left to hope for
\nClearly nothing they
\nWere victims without faces
\nDrowning in the spray<\/p>\n
And finally social network
\nPicks it up and throws
\nIt out into the media
\nThats where the circus grows
\nWe see lost souls emerging
\nIn their broken state
\nTo the tune of just how sorry
\nIt makes us feel of late<\/p>\n
Whats happening to people
\nWhats happening is we
\nAre rapidly becoming helpless
\nAs the salty sea
\nRumbles up behind us
\nThreatening us so much
\nSo many broken victims
\nWho thought they were in touch<\/p>\n
