We call it Pork
\nwhen its on the fork
\nbut its PIG
\nwhen its in the sty
\nor the factory farm
\nwhere life’s,far from calm
\nand the pig knows it
\nwill die<\/p>\n
having had its testicles torn off
\nby unskilled labourers who
\nthen docked its tail with a
\nbig thumb nail
\nits what farm labourers do
\nwe know that its intelligence
\nis a child of 3 or 4
\nwe know that when we
\nget it, outside the slaughter door<\/p>\n
we hear it sort of whimpering.
\nsnorting, crying out
\nthis is something most ignore
\nor even shout about
\nthe cries for the pig
\nwhich is now pork
\nare unlikely, to be
\nthought about its
\nquickly hung on a chain
\nfor few to see<\/p>\n
kicking, writhing, forcefully
\nits throat cut, watch it
\nbleed
\nand let death take its
\ncourse
\nfor that’s where
\nit will lead
\neyes a rolling
\nmouth a frothing
\nlegs a kicking out
\nfinish it off in the
\nscalding tanks
\nthat’s what its about<\/p>\n
Hear that awesome sizzle
\nas the boiling water cooks
\nthe frantic gasps of agony
\nyou will not read this
\nin books
\nbut its dead
\nwe’ve gone and killed it
\nlets now think up a way
\nand let
\nthe public know it’s tasty pork
\nfor them today
\nlike me, of course they’ll soon forget
\nthat this pork was once a pig
\nso its get the plastic TV chefs
\nand their rigmarole to rig
\nsell the pork and crackling
\nits real good for the trade
\nsmell that rich aroma
