Its an all out war
\nWith consequences conceivably much greater
\nThan many could imagine
\nFor the elephant may be
\nThe victim for such numbers
\nAre being slaughtered daily
\nAnd extinction is a distinct possibility<\/p>\n
Africa is reeling from the growth
\nOf criminality
\nThe poaching gangs in the Gabon
\nIn the forests where we see
\nA smaller heavy tusked elephant
\nWhose ivory is pinker
\nAnd hard as nails so sought after
\nAnd where these animals wander free<\/p>\n
Minkebe’s vast forests where roads are few
\nAnd far between
\nTracking poachers isn’t easy
\nRich pickings there have been
\nComing from the Cameroon these violent
\nHunting renegades
\nFight their way through heavy bush
\nAnd the numbers killed are obscene<\/p>\n
Such thunder it reverberates
\nThe losses are catastrophic
\nAsiA is a market place for Ivory today
\nEveryone is at it
\nGovernment officials corruption
\nIts official it obviously does pay<\/p>\n
Its an ugly hideous scene of woe
\nA repellant trail of death
\nWherever forest elephants go
\nThey are fighting for their breath<\/p>\n

\nTo save this situation they need might
\nThe president he owns a house in London
\nHis children go to public school here he
\nMust raise his game in the Gabon
\nGet behind his rangers
\nThe tougher the better if he is going to see<\/p>\n
An improvement in the elephant population
\nAlready it is so out of control
\nHunters and poachers really have to realise
\nWe look upon them as creatures without soul
\nCowards who stalk the elephants and kill them
\nHacking off their tusks in vile displays
\nCraven spirited ghouls who use the denseness of the jungle
\nAnd their indiscretion to control<\/p>\n
Lets hope the British soldiers can make a difference
\nLets hope the trade in ivory can be
\nThwarted at the borders the gangs can be diminished
\nFor otherwise no elephants will we see
\nAfrica must now get our support and every pLace
\nMust ban the sale of ivory which is a sad disgrace
\nGovernments can do this China there is a need
\nSo many animals slaughtered in the forests how they bleed <\/p>\n
Unbelievable creative forces being lost each day
\nFor insignificant trinkets on the road to Mandalay
\nEach of us must look out for the elephants we must try
\nSign petitions write to governments try to keep our eye
\nOn everything thats elephant for otherwise the cost
\nIs immeasurable its terrible thats when Africa has lost<\/p>\n
Its last elephant and thats not too far off at this rate<\/p>\n
