Already its completely out of hand
\nFor the corporates run the show
\nWith contempt for human beings
\nSo the animals they know
\nThey Feel it in their marrow
\nEach sinew of their soul
\n“Tilly” who was born into this unbearable
\nControl<\/p>\n
She was weak her little legs
\nTied up in knots what could she do
\nTry to walk and just fall over
\nCrippled through and through
\nHer right leg was quite useless
\nSo feeding was a pain
\nAnd there she was in the CAFO
\nSheds for the insane<\/p>\n
Packed into these areas
\nEvery inch saw one
\nBird trying to scramble
\nWith everything undone
\nFighting to share the acrid
\nAir polluted with snot and piss
\nThis is what is happening
\nWhich mostly consumers miss<\/p>\n
It happened that there was a raid
\nAnd activists came by
\nAnd Tilly was spotted hunched over in pain
\nWhich is really why
\nActivism is essential
\nSome victims can be saved
\nAnd Tilly was such a victim
\nFor up to then she had braved<\/p>\n
The onslaught of the others
\nThe fitter ones who tried
\nTo eat what food was thrown at her
\nAnd so she had been denied
\nFood because of her crippled state
\nShe was not up to it, she
\nWas going down hill faster
\nThan she was supposed to be<\/p>\n
but Tilly was a fighter

\nGiven up the ghost
\nAnd just laid on the floor
\nTo be trampled on and eaten
\nBy the fly blown maggots, they
\nSpent a lot of time upon the floor
\nWhere they all lay<\/p>\n
This isn’t turkey heaven,
\nIts worse than Chicken Hell
\nIts the Corporate world of profits first
\nIts the hearts and minds they sell
\nTheir bodies spent with lack of food
\nTheir muscles weak with pain
\nTilly was a victim
\nGoing utterly insane<\/p>\n
Picked up by an activist
\nGently taken Away
\nWith a friend called Roger
\nIt must have Made her day
\nLifted out of the cardboard box
\nAnd placed there on the grass
\nWith the sunshine and the fresh air
\nIt must have felt first class<\/p>\n
But she was really feeling it
\nLegs splayed on the floor
\nShe really couldn’t walk at all
\nAnd everywhere was sore
\nStill she was entering rehab
\nThe gals were going to be
\nLoving and decidedly good
\nTo roger and Tilly<\/p>\n
They rigged up a sling
\nSo as to support
\nHer as she tried to stand
\nHeld her gave her exercises
\nWhich were really grand
\nAll that lovely patience
\nAll that loving care
\nAnd Tilly she responded
\nClearly loving being there<\/p>\n
And gradually she got stronger
\nEating well and on a high
\nLove was all around her
\nFrom the ground up to the sky
\nAnd when somebody loves you
\nReally loves you then you know
\nThat everywhere is beautiful
\nAnd you just want to grow<\/p>\n
Weeks went by and love and kindness
\nCarried on for she
\nWas getting stronger and realising
\nThat one day she could be
\nLike all the healthy chickens
\nAnd walk out of the farm
\nRun about with the farm dogs
\nAnd not come to any harm<\/p>\n
She still rocked on her two legs
\nShe still fell on the floor
\nBut she was going to walk again
\nOf that we all were sure
\nShe rocked a bit of course one does
\nAnd no doubt some did laugh
\nBut she was going to walk again
\nShe didn’t do things by half<\/p>\n
The activists who found her saved her
\nThats was for sure
\nFor by now she would have been maggot feed
\nFlattened out on the floor
\nBut Tilly was a fighter too
\nAnd with love and care about
\nShe made it to the walking stage
\nAs we knew without a doubt<\/p>\n
She came through the leg pulling
\nThat can really drag you down
\nIts funny how the others think
\nIt helps to go to town
\nOn a weak bird who cant walk a lot
\nBut this is what they do
\nAnd it happens wiTh the human breed
\nSadly that is true<\/p>\n
But the fighters keep on fighting
\nIn ways that we can see
\nAnd Tilly now can walk like others
\nAnd does so easily
\nShe goes outside the farm yard
\nAnd plays with the farm hound
\nShe is grateful she was rescued
\nFrom that big shed on the ground<\/p>\n
Its up to all of us humans to stop this
\nInfamy
\nTo stop eating these corporate meals
\nWhere only agony
\nIs forthcoming for the participants
\nThe ingredients let us say
\nLike Tilly would have become
\nIf she was healthier that day<\/p>\n
Jammed packed with antibiotics
\nWith chemicals galore
\nPesticides and hormones
\nSome outside the law
\nSickening ingredients
\nThat forced these birds to feel
\nAnything but healthy
\nAnd just part of a meal<\/p>\n
Tilly was a happy story
\nWith a happy end
\nHow Tilly had been rescued
\nWith Roger her crippled friend
\nAnd how thanks to the love and care
\nHer life was turned around
